so after the incredibly traumatising experience I had with the 'ADHD Specialist' within the NHS who told me that 'DID doesn't exist' and insisted it was actually called 'Dissociative Identity Personality Disorder', I asked my GP if they could refer me to another ADHD assessment service and they've said they're unable to. Sooooo now I have to go private but I can't find anywhere that isn't ridiculously expensive and now I'm super anxious about who to trust after the bs that was the last appointment I had. Does anyone know of any places in the UK that offer ADHD assessments at a reasonable cost and are actually good humans?

It’s weird being diagnosed with autism at age 22. I’ve been “weird” and “not normal” my entire life and many people have told me so or made fun of me because of it. but now my doctor says it’s a medical condition so I feel like I’ve been given permission to be myself. It’s like every time someone says something I do is weird I can just be like “oh yeah I actually have a note from my doctor saying I’m allowed to be weird.”
