hi. i guess im e-begging now.

i just got back to work after a 7 month disability leave for a wrist injury. i got a prednisone shot that helped enough to return, but it’s been slowly stopping being effective since i got back.

today i mentioned i’m still in pain, and asked for extra breaks, so they sent me home and told me i can’t work again until i’m medically cleared (appt is the 30th). so i’m in a gap where i’m not getting paid, and leave/disability stuff moves slow (and wouldn't even get approved until after i talk to my doc anyway?)

bonus annoying detail?? while i was on leave, they told me they’d lined up a less RSI-straining position for me… and then they threw me back into the same position that exacerbated my injury in the first place!! and then last week i just watched the other position get filled by some random guy. i watched the exact same run-around happen to another transfem coworker before she quit!! which!! is a hard pattern to ignore!! so im using this time away to search for a new job...

regardless.. bills/loans are now impossible for me. if you can spare anything to help me cover payments until i’m back, i’d really appreciate it. venmo: mlgee

I know it goes against everything we've ever been taught, but we do need to put in the work to realize that being ugly is...completely fine. like entirely neutral. so is being conventionally attractive. neutral. not just for other people, but for ourselves. you need to be able to look at yourself and see what you perceive to be physical flaws and go "this is okay, this is the least important part of who I am." It's so beyond okay and normal and fine to be ugly. And I know! Easier said than done. But I do genuinely believe that freedom from looking into the mirror and hating yourself is a worthy goal. Freedom from judging a person immediately based off of their appearance is a worthy goal. Freedom from buying the thousands of products they try and tell you will make you perfect, as if that should be the aim and goal, is a worthy goal.
