wait, WHAT happened on the wiki precisely?

to cut a long story short; the hollow knight wiki has decided to replace the pronouns of pretty much every single canonically nonbinary character in silksong (and i do mean nonbinary as in they are literally textually referred to with they/them in-game) with either she/her or he/him. this decision is based on secondhand reports from an unnamed translator who supposedly has access to the design document team cherry used to officially designate the gender of every character. it's important to note that

nobody besides the wiki admins knows who this translator is (or if they're even legally allowed to distribute this information)

nobody outside the wiki admins is able to verify this translator, or the existence of the list they're sourcing

the wiki admins continue to insist the translations used in this unpublished, unverified, and very likely actively illegal list take significant priority over what's directly stated multiple times in the published game

the wiki admins refuse to explain why they believe any of this nonsense, or why they thought this was a good idea to begin with

this pronoun fuckery has not happened with any other character. only the members of the cast who explicitly go by they/them have had their pages changed to use different pronouns according to the admin's obviously comically dubious sources.

many people, including myself, have attempted to voice our complaints to the admins for some time now. they have yet to reverse the changes, or apologize for pulling any of this bullshit.
