Lovely, state social media bans are slowly becoming a thing. Also it is starting at florida. Please tell your family and neighbors and the local spaces about these censorship's and freedom restricting laws. Have them call, email, or irl mail their reps, senators and governors. Have them mention along the lines of "I will not give my support and will not give my vote if you are in favor of any kids act, verification law, and other monitoring esc law that is under the guise of "safety" " during the call, email, or letter. Also guide them to petitions against these laws. The more you help your family and neighbors be technologically aware, the better it is to maintain basic privacy rights as a person. this might be my silly inconsequential take about this but I think you should support your friends' art endeavours in whatever ways you can and very vehemently

say nice shit about their art. fangirl about it, compliment the art fundamentals or the vibe or the color whatever. share their posts online

it used to be so easy to create an art community online in the past and now it's hellish. fight the algorithms. spam your friends art. they will either rlly appreciate the attention or straight up need it.

theres something slightly heartbreaking about the thought that the people around you don't care about your creations. by all means, you should create art for yourself but also, sometimes that art is a direct window into your inner world and when friends and loved ones ignore that it can sting pretty bad

that's it folks be nice to each other out there and fight to create meaningful communities

as much as i poke fun at “tumblr prose,” i will acknowledge that sometimes when you’re writing and you’re really in the groove, you’re really feeling yourself, you’re on your capital-a Author shit, and you write a line that makes you go, “oh yeah, this is the Good Shit. this is so Subtle and Says So Much. this is Characterization. this is Themes and Motifs. you could write a whole essay about this one line. the master of the craft strikes again!” and then a month or whatever later when you’re editing you read over it again with post-write clarity and you realize you wrote some real “people die when they’re killed” bullshit

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
