Watch: The most wonderful moment of joy came when he entered a Nazi guard bungalow.
We are the last generation who can hear from these survivors directly. Do not take that lightly. Do not waste that opportunity. Do not forget your freedom isnât infinitely guarenteed. And do not, do not, let it happen again.
Really truly, watch the video, reblog it. Teaching about the holocaust is so necessary for our generation before it slips under the rug and people forget about it.
Iâm laughing cause this is hilarious, they turned of messaging after I called them out. But for those of you not in the know let me explain how gift card scams work.
If someone is offering to give you money, great!! There are a few ways to stay safe. Apps like PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay Cash, and internal banking transfers are all safe ways to do this although PayPal is generally a good way since you donât need to give any personal info other than an email.
A scammer will ask you to purchase a gift card for them, and this is your first clue there is something phishy going on. If some one is genuinely trying to give you money they will not ask you to purchase something in order for that money to get to you.
If you purchase the gift card, theyâll ask you for the number on the card so they can refill it for you and give you the promised money. In a scam they will take all the money out of the card you purchased and then disappear.
I deal with this a lot at work. People calling folks and telling them their online accounts are locked and they need to purchase a gift card so they can pay to unlock them. Itâs all bullshit. Please do not get wrapped up in the promise of money or in the fear or your accounts or devices not working. Think rationally, and if someone asks you to buy something so they can give you what they promised (money, unlocking your account, return of digital property) donât do it.
Stay safe friends.
âI worked for a financial services company in northern China. Â I really wanted Hong Kong to be a light for the Chinese people to see democracy in our system. Â And thatâs why I got in trouble. Â I downloaded some pictures of the protest onto my phone, and shared them on my personal social media. Â But somehow the management of my company found out. Â My boss wanted me to quit my job and sign a letter of regret. Â Heâd written it out for me. Â But I refused, and he fired me. Â He sent a letter to the whole office saying I was anti-country. Â The next day the local police came to my door. Â They took my blood, and my photo, and my fingerprint, and my palm print. Â They charged me with âprovoking troubles.â Â Itâs a crime that doesnât require strong proof. Â Itâs a pocket they can put anyone in. Â They made me sign a letter promising never to provoke troubles again. Â And if I do, next time it wonât just be the local police who knock on my door.â (Hong Kong)

(from top to bottom: Autumn Peltier, Amariyanna âMariâ Copeny, Ahed Tamimi, Malala, Greta Thunberg, Melati and Isabel Wijsen, Artemisa XakriabĂĄ, Ridhima Pandey, Jamie Margolin, Rowan Blanchard, Jaclyn Corin and Emma Gonzalez, Shamma bint Suhail Faris Mazrui, Sophie Cruz, Bana al-Abed, Marley Dias, Jazz Jennings, Sonita Alizadeh, Payal Jangid)
listen i love greta thunberg i really do like what an icon BUT i think itâs absolutely ridiculous that she, a literal child, is being made to be the face of stopping climate change. and she obviously thinks its ridiculous too. iâve seen so many adults in power talking about how inspirational she is and everything, and then pretty much just stop there. it is EMBARRASSING that the 4.5 billion people over the age of 30 on earth right now are looking to one teenager to fix the problems they created. itâs not inspirational, itâs pathetic. Greta has to be so extremely aggravated with the amount of attention and lack of actual action from policymakers, because I sure am.Â
Almost as if it were todayđ
Reading about abusive men and the way they think. Very unsettling and an incredible book so far. Here are my very professional notes.
what book is this?
This is from âWhy Does He DO Thatâ by Lundy Bancroft.
Iâm so glad Iâm seeing more and more Lundy Bancroft quotes on my dash because this book CHANGES THE LIVES OF ABUSE VICTIMS. The programs run for rehabilitating abusive men through the courts? Bancroft DESIGNED THEM. His programs are replicated ALL OVER THE WORLD. He literally wrote THE book on abuser rehabilitation.
Hereâs a link to a pdf copy. If you havenât read this book yet, read this book.
Can we talk about how it seems like the entirety of the book is online on PDF, this making it accessible to anyone with an internet connection?
That is how we stop abuse.
We enable everyone to know what it looks like, so that when it happens, they can shut it down.
Arm yrself with knowledge!
Changed my life, would reccomend.
Reblogging for the PDF link.

Refugees Welcome

âMy body, my choiceâ only makes sense when someone elseâs life isnât at stake.
Fun fact: If my younger sister was in a car accident and desperately needed a blood transfusion to live, and I was the only person on Earth who could donate blood to save her, and even though donating blood is a relatively easy, safe, and quick procedure no one can force me to give blood. Yes, even to save the life of a fully grown person, it would be ILLEGAL to FORCE me to donate blood if I didnât want to.
See, we have this concept called âbodily autonomy.â Itâs thisâŠ.cultural notion that a personâs control over their own body is above all important and must not be infringed upon.Â
Like, we canât even take LIFE SAVING organs from CORPSES unless the person whose corpse it is gave consent before their death. Even corpses get bodily autonomy.Â
To tell people that they MUST sacrifice their bodily autonomy for 9 months against their will in an incredibly expensive, invasive, difficult process to save what YOU view as another human life (a debatable claim in the early stages of pregnancy when the VAST majority of abortions are performed) is desperately unethical. You canât even ask people to sacrifice bodily autonomy to give up organs they arenât using anymore after they have died.Â
Youâre asking people who can become pregnant to accept less bodily autonomy than we grant to dead bodies.Â
reblogging for commentaryÂ
But, assuming the mother wasnât raped, the choice to HAVE a baby and risk sacrificing their âbodily autonomyâ is a choice that the mother made. YOu donât have to have sex with someone. Cases of rape aside, it isnât ethical to say abortion is justified. The unborn baby has rights, too.Â
First point: Bodily autonomy can be preserved, even if another life is dependent on it. See again the example about the blood donation.Â
And hereâs another point: When you say that ârape is the exceptionâ you betray something FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN about your own argument.
Because a fetus produced from sexual assault is biologically NO DIFFERENT than a fetus produced from consensual sex. No difference at all.
If one is alive, so is the other. If one is a person, so is the other. If one has a soul, then so does the other. If one is a little blessing that happened for a reason and must be protected, then so is the other.Â
When you say that âRape is the exceptionâ what you betray is this: It isnât about a life. This isnât about the little soul sitting inside some personâs womb, because if it was you wouldnât care about HOW it got there, only that it is a little life that needs protecting.
When you say ârape is the exceptionâ what you say is this: You are treating pregnancy as a punishment. You are PUNISHING people who have had CONSENSUAL SEX but donât want to go through a pregnancy. People who DARED to have consensual sex without the goal of procreation in mind, and this is their âconsequence.âÂ
And that is gross.Â
^ THIS. This this this this THIS THIS THIS. THIS!!!!!
âItâs been a year and I still miss Denis. I hate it that us, the skaters and the figure skating world are able to continue moving forward without him. He should be here, moving forward with us. Itâs so fucking unfair, I hate it so much.â
hey so uhhh hereâs an important update on whatâs apparently happening at the border, especially with the use of the old japanese internment camps
all i can say is iâm sickened by this mess, by the atrocities committed against innocent people. and now there will be no surveillance. no one will be able to see what happens to these people. the UN, the media, and any other human rights organizations cannot get into these facilities, either, in order to stop whatâs happening. by the way, coast guard members were apparently aiding in this process as well. so now itâs only a matter of time before it becomes a military movement.
no one gets in. no one gets out.
so when are we going to call this what it is? itâs fascism. itâs genocide. and if we donât stop it now, itâs going to be disastrous.
contact your senators, your representatives, anyone thatâs in office that can get off their lazy ass and do something.
can yâall please reblog this iâm begging
we seriously need to bring back the concept of âdespite its flaws i still enjoy itâ instead of âcancellingâ every fuckin thing in sightÂ
