Hi I want to get started on some art. I use to draw ages ago (so I clearly lost all skills). I want to make art and I view so much other art its left me feeling intimidated and like whats the point....any advice?
Hey there! Thanks for sending an ask! :D
Damn I get that, other people’s art can be very, very intimidating hahaha
I’m probably not the best person to be answering this kind of question, because I haven’t done art for too long. So you should probably take my advice with a grain of salt.
But what I did starting out was to determine what kind of art style and medium I wanted to learn. This kind of gives you a basis of what to aim for. (You don’t have to limit yourself to just one art style/medium!)
Most importantly you should focus on making art for you, not for other people. Do the art that you feel like doing, you don’t have to make art because that’s what other people want.
Also remember that art is quite a challenging thing to do, and it sometimes takes ages for people to get good at it. So don’t get discouraged if your art doesn’t look good when you’re just starting out. Just keep practising and have fun with it!
Hahaha I hope this makes sense,
But I genuinely wish you the best of luck re-learning art! :DDDD
