taking notes – a rather silly interest considering my break from academia, but i love typing, writing and color-coordinating notes! i will take notes on anything and everything if given the opportunity!
aquariums – i'm currently keeping ghost shrimp!! i have about 15 of them, and i'm hoping to get another tank so i can keep a red-clawed crab!

sept 6 2024 - friday.
it's been a while since any original content came across this old studyblr, but i'm here with an update!
I STARTED MY INTERNSHIP!!
i have been BEYOND busy with meetings, coffee dates, and book readings that i was definitely unprepared for. in fact, i have to get to the middle of Lead Like IT Matters by wednesday for the next staff meeting. not a huge deal, but quite a bit of reading considering i just got the book yesterday (sept 5).
the only struggle i've had so far is the printer in the family life office. my supervisor sends me to the printer dang near 6 or 7 times in the day; making copies, replenishing the paper, cleaning the printheads, what have you. our worship resident (we love JOSH) thinks he's got the printer figured out, but we almost always run into "technical difficulties". we're all just learning together :)
today (sept 6) i:
went to a cafe with friends - i got a creme brulatte, which is a vanilla latte with caramelized sugar on the top. HIGHLY recommend
got invited to a chapel service at a university nearby
sent out the plan for middle school youth group (i've already got two band members confirmed!!)
excited for my danish lesson td! i haven't properly tried to learn a new language in ages, so it's cool to build a new habit in a language that isn't required for school.
academic
→ outline first paper section
→ set up mendeley
personal
→ workout
→ shoot b-roll
→ take notes in danish

i wasn't very productive today, but i read a lot and talked to my friends on the phone after a long time. my labs start from tomorrow and i'm a little bit nervous because my class is going to be full of strangers again and i'm so tired of socialising lol. but still looking forward to it :)

Today I will be continuing reading Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. I like to write up my review as I progress in the book, so that I get my thoughts and notes down for each chapter and story arc. I’ve been trying to make steady progress and keep a reading streak, as well as working on my artistic capabilities every day, and my Spanish skills!

deep focus: 1h
body: shower + 6k steps (victory: brushed my teeth!)
it's the last week before my internship officially begins (aug 26th), and i've been scrambling around trying to find activities to fill my time. i have a last-minute meeting with my supervisor today at 2pm to go over the final paperwork and make sure i'm set to start.
the academic weapon challenge has been forwent. i got distracted and have been making routines up as i go. i was trying to use this weekend as a "break" of sorts, to clear my mind and assess my priorities; i instead found a Tiny Toad and all other objectives went into the river.
pros & cons of the past week:
+
-> living la vida loca
-> learning more about how the church runs + who's involved
hello!! i've been MIA for a few days because my band had a gig this past sunday night. it was AWESOME. i'm beyond grateful for the work we all put into making it happen and getting shit done! i finally got over my pneumonia (very mild) and i'm breathing normally again!! it's mind-boggling how i take using both nostrils for granted.
here's how the challenge has been going:
sleep: getting better at rolling out of bed right away when the alarm goes off! going to bed at a reasonable hour, though, is much harder. with so many exciting things happening last week into this week, i'm struggling to turn my brain off for the evening.
routine: meal plans, cleaning schedules, it's all sticking so far!! i do however have a very strong feeling that my routine will change with the upcoming academic year. you just never know!!
body: drinking water improves your mood! who would've thought? my skin has cleared up which might be a part of my "cycle" but i want to give myself the credit for actually drinking water
reading: unfortunately i have not been reading much (does reading music count?) but i have been carrying a book in my bag in case the opportunity does strike
reflection: when i get busy, i get BUSY. i tend to ignore my basic needs (food, water, sleep) when i've got too many things scheduled in one day, but i kinda enjoy having so many places to go. and, all of the places i've been at, my friends are there! it's like a reward :)
god.......d-day so soon. posting midway through school, i have my 2.4 in about two hours (kms). history exam tomorrow, second to last one for term 3. bahuafojsoamfosna so much happened yesterday and im sleepy as hell
day two of antibiotics, and i am feeling it. today got off to a rough start when my alarm yanked me out of REM, but i've just been resting in bed and doing a lot of reading/writing. i have also been doomscrolling this app trying to get a feel for how i want my studyblr to look... today's screen time is gonna be rough lol
sleep: 6h 57m. i started using Pillow, which is free to use, but if you want any extra special details (sleep noises, waking up to the alarm, power nap settings, etc) you'll have to pay for a subscription. i think, once i get deeper into trying to better my sleep schedule, i'll use Rise, as recommended by the amazing @/sentinelstudies!! but, this will work for now :)
routine: i totally failed taking my vitamins (until 2pm), but i ate a bagel sandwich for breakfast and i had some water. took my antibiotic and pain meds. of course... right when i start trying to get better, i get sick 😩
deep focus: art history – paleolithic, mesolithic, and neolithic periods. i'm in stonehenge rn and i never thought i'd be as invested in this as i am lol
body: took my antibiotic and ate light foods today. i think that's as good as it's gonna get. i had originally made coffee plans with a friend and seeing Deadpool x Wolverine (for the second time) with another friend, but i may be tentatively attending/rescheduling said plans. i'm not currently in the market to be getting my friends sick :)
reading: my lovely man sent me "the ritual" by adam nevill, and i'm very excited to get started on it as it's been on my tbr for the LONGEST time
reflection: i am the biggest baby when it comes to being sick. but!! i know i've got this. i won't be sick forever. it'll pass eventually, and i'll be able to sleep and breathe again!!
