I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.

Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.

You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.

these get reposted a whole lot from here to reddit to twitter to tiktok and on and on, and i don't personally care whether or not i'm credited. i made these for everyone to use, enjoy, and find meaning in them. i appreciate folks who do credit me, but if able, please at least link to the threadless shop in the previous post - folks can get an official shirt where 90% of earnings go to trans led orgs focused on mental health (which is an important matter in general, but very personal to me) and not from a scam bot site selling AI-churned maga garbage where you probably won't get one anyway. i also suggest downloading the files from my ko-fi - they are free/PWYW and you can use them to make your own shirt, patch, embroidery project, whatever. tips are always nice, cuz i do like a pizza now and then, but never required for download.

final thought - breaking the pride tradition and more than likely won't make a new piece. the top one from TDOV is all i'm making this year. i have my focus on other projects currently and i don't want to force a poster design. these came from a specific head space and my current head space is Very Tired lmao so i wanna work on other things. 👍

Letting an outline and the skeleton of a first chapter sit, then coming back to it after a bunch of lightbulb moments, is so much fun. The puzzle pieces in my head now make sense as a whole.

#random rambling about writing #this is about novel attempt no.4 #I need to give it a catchier high level WIP name like “lesbian soulbinding WIP” or “swordswoman/sorceress WIP” or something #either way #hyping myself up about the layers of drama that don't yet exist on the page beyond outline notes #and feeling the traces of the Big Scenes beginning to form #this'll be the second book I've written that leans on the romance in a big way and the early concept & themes feel stronger for that #whereas the other book I wrote that has a prominent romance felt like two separate novels kinda shuffled together #that was one of the first novels I wrote so it was also Bad for other reasons #I won't be able to help myself from making it a little more upmarket but that's just how want to write genre at this point
