my issue with the snape vs James debate is actually about what the content in the media represents as a whole in REAL LIFE AND POLITICALLY.

I don’t sympathize with characters who are fascists point blank period.

I especially do not sympathize with characters who only disassociate from fascism because something has impacted them personally. I’m fully aware of what that means outside of one small piece of media. I actually understand the impacts of that in real life.

The author of this series IS A BIGOT. She wrote characters who ARE BIGOTS and justified their bigotry and has them “redeemed” in ways that are purely selfish because she is a selfish person.

I will never sympathize with Snape or his actions. Bigotry, racism, fascism, any form of discrimination is wrong, no matter what’s happened to you in your life.

James Potter was a high school bully. No one has ever said that’s okay. But what IS okay is redeeming yourself by repeatedly standing against bigotry.
