"What's with the broken clock?"
"That stopped when the bomb flown off. When the lab reopens, I'm going to hang it in my new office to remind me... always"
"4:47... why would you be reminded of the bomb and when everything almost ended, Bones?"
"Because it didn't."
Wow, who knew that Bones and I would come this far... 4 years in the making. Below is my first touchbase with the series. As I remember, I just used to see it from when I was browsing through channels when I still had cable in my own room.
4 years... 4 years of watching a series that has sparked joy in me as I learnt new things about my love, Science, mixed with another interesting topic, murder investigations. Indeed, Bones has become, and will always be, a pivotal part of my life as it unveiled to me the wonderful realm of Science and Criminology - something that's not easily within my reach, as an individual who doesn't work anywhere near that kind of field.
In the final episode, Bones' analytic function has been compromised due to the bombing. When she woke up, her memories were still intact but her capability to form decisions and conclusions out of presented information weren't. She got to a point of almost breaking down due to the fear of losing everything that she's ever had from the start, her intelligence. In this scene, all the remaining interns converged to cover for Dr. Brennan's incapacity to work during that time. With all their knowledge combined, they realized the dead man's role in the murder. To me, this moment radiates the legacy of Dr. Brennan. It is the knowledge that she passed to the interns over the years. These interns in the photo aren't even complete, there are still a few people to be added to the group.
In this scene, Hodgins recollects his memories with Zack through a photograph that lived through the fire. The two of them were the original partners in crime - the original colleagues of Dr. Â Brennan.
Below is Hodgins' reaction of when he got the news that he'll be the interim Director of the Jeffersonian while Cam's on her leave of absence. This scene, too, is great as he was very confident when he immediately congratulated Brennan, on his assumption that Brennan will get the position, when they diverted to that topic. And because this is so unexpected to him, he circled around in his wheelchair, while joyfully screaming that he's officially king of the lab.
Aaaaahhh the producers and writers are great to have even thought of that. That "King of the Lab" thing had been going on since I don't know when, and now it's official!
Oh, Bones. I've finished several series, but nothing had ever gone to this magnitude. The ending has given me so much feels, and I don't know when I'll be completely over with this series. I used to complain how every episode is just the same routine as the others. Finding a murder - FBI collabs with the Jeffersonian - interrogations - assumptions - making a guess on my end - finally knowing who the suspect is - repeat from start. But now, it just adds up to the reasons why it is a good idea to rewatch the series. Because every episode is filled with action, adventure, and a bunch of useful stuff. I think it's gonna take me some time to find another one like you, Bones. Â
