We are all on some kind of journey, mine is first and foremost to become healthier. Healthier in many ways, but primarily bodily, physically. It is a journey, however, and there are many distractions that can get in the way, branches of my path that look inviting, but will not take me where I want, need, desire to go.
The sun is out and summer is in full swing here. I took my juice this morning along with all my vitamins and headed off to school briefly before getting outside to walk up the mountain again. I love this mountain because it isn’t too tough, it isn’t too small, so I find it just right in the amount of challenge it gives me as I hike up and down and all around it.
The sign above signifies that although it has been called Mount Douglas Park in the past, it is recognized as PKOLS by the indigenous people of the area. From the parking lot near the summit where this sign is posted, one can walk all the way to the true summit.
This walk symbolizes many people’s journey I thought, but being smooth in parts, having stairs in others, wrapping tightly around a bend so no path is in sight, to giving glimpses of the final destination at others.
The point is not to get too attached to what we see, because we see very little of the actual journey from our vantage point. Knowing that we are on the right path is sometimes tricky as well, but as long as we look back the way we come to take stock in where we are, celebrate our accomplishment, and check to see if we are on the right path, we should be able to manage our journey to maximize success.
This is what my path today looks like:

May your journey be swift, full of personal challenges that you strive to overcome. Don’t forget to look back and see how far you have come, because each new day brings us closer to our goal. In resting for a moment to contemplate the scope of our position on our path, and judge the distance to success or a milestone, we can sharpen our blade of resolve, so it cuts away all of the distractions swiftly and we can maintain our desired pace, and direction.
Peace and joy on your path!
