don’t think about how mike dedicates every book he ever writes “to the mage.”

don’t think about how el’s impact in his life will haunt his narrative and inspire his writing for as long as he lives.

don’t think about how he’ll be sure to write his lead character to be braver, stronger and more capable of saving the day than he was.

don’t think about how he’ll always ensure that his characters get their happy ending, because his own still feels so out of reach.

and definitely don’t think about how at the end of every single author acknowledgments he will always include “and to the mage — I love you. i’m sorry I never said it enough.” that way if there’s any chance she is still out there, the tangible evidence of his love will exist in permanent print at every bookshop, in every corner of the world.

Eleven from Stranger things is literally just a manic pixie dream girl

Think about it:

A strange weird girl shows up out of nowhere has no real arc of her own other then being with the main protagonist

And once all is said and done, she leaves

And as we all know, manic pixie dream girls always leave once the male protagonist has grown or learned or whatever because they’re seen as nothing more than the counterpart to the male to fix him.

That’s the ultimate issue with paralleling the season one ending in the finale. El was supposed to die, at the end but then they turned her into a fully fledged character by season 2. I don’t agree with her being a manic pixie dream girl beyond that, if anything they turned Mike into just “El’s boyfriend” until season five.
