I really have been just accepting that Lilo’s cover story “Stitch used to be a collie ‘til he got run over” as the story everyone accepted.

I still can’t get over the fact that when Lilo brought out Stitch to adopt, the clerk freaked out because she thought he was dead.

But Stitch didn’t wake up alone in some back room, as a dead dog might- he woke up in a kennel with half a dozen (terrified) dogs.

Meaning they put an animal they were 100% certain was dead - as it had been run over by a semi - just right on in with the other dogs.
