Announced the end of all physical PS game releases
While simultaneously announcing the end of two of their console game stores — ensuring multiple games will die forever
Declared that they are wholly dedicated to (A) leveraging A.I. when making games and (B) creating live-service games above all other game types
Announced that if you bought any movies through their PlayStation Store, over 550 of them will soon be deleted from all users' libraries — with no restitution offered of any kind
Gamers, it is time — to paraphrase Robert Vann — to turn Sony's picture to the wall. Any one of these insults would be bad, and taken alone? Maybe it could be swallowed. But this is an ongoing campaign of disdain towards customers, with each declaration worse than the last.
PlayStation does not deserve your patronage any longer. The PS6 must fail. Leave them behind.
Do you guys remember the original Xbox One announcement? Where all games would only have one installation before the disc became useless, the console had to be always online to function, and would be constantly listening to the room around it?
Remember how it got clowned on so badly that the person in charge resigned on disgrace and they did a full 180 on everything they had committed to?
US based but it’s similar reasons in other countries. and of course many companies have international locations. idk if that’s why it’s happening with sour patch kids but this is a thing
My nephew is very allergic to eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. Last year my sister discovered all hot dogs and hamburger buns now contain sesame. Not "may contain", but listed in the ingredients. This year basically every brand of sliced bread also now contains sesame, making it very difficult to find bread items he can eat.
They're just adding it to their products, so they can just list it as an ingredient and not bother with worrying about cross contamination. And they aren't even bothering with telling anyone. Capitalism is going to kill us all.
"Which brings us back to Kellogg’s. Back in 2016, the company found a way around the added burden and expense of complying with the FSMA: they simply began adding trace amounts of peanut flour to their cracker products. Doing so allowed them to list peanuts as an ingredient of the product, freeing them from having to prevent cross-contact.
At the time, Kellogg’s notified Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) about the impending change and left it to them to warn the allergic community. In this case, Pearson’s didn’t even bother as near as we can tell."
I wonder if that’s part of the reason behind my seeing an upswing in products adding corn starch or corn flour to things that didn’t have those before? <- rhetorical question, because I’m certain that’s what’s going on.
This Pride, make sure every trans woman that you follow, are mutuals with, goon over, or consume their work in general, has a roof over their head, their bills paid, and food in their kitchens.
You wanna call yourselves allies? This is the work. Do it.

*takes a deep breath* we really really need help. last couple of years have been really spectacularly difficult for both of us in terms of our physical and mental health and we need your help to get our house deep cleaned / sanitized because it's more than we can handle right now and so I found a local cleaning service run by a wonderful woman who has POTS and a sibling with ADHD and genuinely understands what we've been going through and wants to help us create a clean and safe home for us and our cats.
Here's the link to the GoFundMe and it'll if you are more comfortable donating directly via PayPal, you can use this PayPal link.
[ID: a screenshot of a comic speech bubble. The black text in it reads "No matter how open-minded, socially conscious, anti-racist I think I am, I still have old learned hidden biases that I need to examine. It is my responsibility to check myself daily for my stereotypes, prejudices and, ultimately, discrimination." /ID end]
antiracism is a constant process. i was raised in a racist village and it's not easy to get rid of it. i moved away over 10 years ago but those ideas are still haunting me.
also keep in mind that shame + guilt are not conducive to growing as a person. when it comes to "checking yourself" it should be a non-judgemental process. it's not about flagellating yourself for every bad thought or trying to purify your mind of all corruption. it's only when acknowledging your own racist thoughts doesn't fill you with dread that you can really progress past the white guilt of it all.
radical self-acceptance & genuine self-critique are not opposites. they need each other. do not let obsessive-compulsive behaviors colonize your desire to grow as a person.
In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…
And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.
Keep in mind that the lowest amount of time is more than double than even the harshest sentence given to anyone who participated in the attempted fascist coup on January 6th
Do you have any tips for finding books to read, because I genuinely want to read more but I find it so hard to find books that peak my interests, maybe I'm a bit picky when it comes to books idk
I was about to be a douchebag and say "read my book hahahahaha", but there are some things you can do!
award lists can be fun to work through. like I'm into sci fi and fantasy primarily, so I treat the Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy award winners as a reading list.
and if you seek out marginalized writers in a given genre, you'll find fresh interesting perspectives. the quality of writing is often better out of necessity, too, just because they HAVE to be better to get close to the same respect as your dime a dozen white boys. Ursula K Le Guin is a great example of this, as is Octavia Butler, Marlon James, N.K Jemisin, and Waubgeshig Rice.
I also find books through social media, by following editors of indie magazines and publishers. these are career book nerds, so you'll see them talking about a lot of obscure stuff that you wouldn't otherwise stumble across. and indie publishing is hit and miss re: quality, so they can be a good filter for finding the best/most interesting stuff.
It is 3:20 AM and some asshole just blew off a mortar which is rude firstly because why are you deploying pyrotechnics when you live in one of north america's most flammable environments, also why at three twenty in the goddamn morning but most of all for giving me a brief glimmer of hope that The Greatests Of Crab Raves had begun and the crushing disappointment that it had not.
I feel like to really get this circulating as it should, we need it superimposed over the picture of the turkey going in the fridge. (I can't do it I'm on my phone.)
I've slowly been chipping away at drawing scenes from that imaginary Muppet retelling of the Princess Bride, figured it was about time to share what I've drawn on Tumblr!

There are currently THREE FEDERAL BOOK BAN BILLS aiming to ban all TRANS BOOKS from U.S. public schools! HR 2616, HR 8705, HR 7661
June 2026 / Maia Kobabe (a trans author, for three years in a row the most challenged author in the U.S.)

HR 2616 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools if they “teach or advance concepts related to gender ideology,” as defined by an Executive Order signed by Trump in Jan 2025. It would also cut funding from schools unless they require “parental consent before changing a minor's gender markers, pronouns, or preferred name on any school form.” HR 2616 HAS ALREADY PASSED IN THE HOUSE! Please call your Senators to say NO ON HR 2616!

HR 8705 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools which teach “discriminatory equity ideology or gender ideology,” as defined by two Executive Orders aimed at suppressing “critical race theory” and trans representation. This bill is named after the late far-right activist Charlie Kirk, “The Charlie Act.” HR 8705 has passed out of committee, but has not yet been introduced in the House. Please call your House Reps to say NO ON HR 8705!

HR 7661 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools which offer material deemed “sexually oriented," treating any LGBTQIA+ identity as sexual content. It specifically forbids “gender dysphoria or transgenderism,” and “lascivious dancing” (drag). This bill, titled “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act,” has 22 co-sponsors and has passed out of committee but has not yet been introduced to the House. Please call your House Reps to say NO ON HR 7661!

I oppose HR 2616 because it would restrict student’s access to books and it would specifically harm trans, nonbinary, and intersex students. Please stand against book bans and protect queer students!”

Author Maia Kobabe: If HR 2616, HR 8705, or HR 7661 pass, it would be almost impossible for any public school in the U.S. to offer or teach my books, unless they’re willing to risk their federal funding. Students would be even less likely to learn about trans stories or accurate U.S. history.

If you don't know who your Senators or Representatives are, you can use Ballotpedia's Who Represents Me tool! (Note: there's a field for you to input your email address on their page, but it's not necessary to get your results. They just need a mailing address to confirm who your reps are.)
Once you've got names, you can look up and save your Reps' phone numbers in your phone. I find this makes it easier when I'm wavering about feeling brave enough to place a call. Just pressing a button instead of going and looking up the phone number all over again makes it just a liiiiittle easier, and sometimes that makes the difference between calling and not calling!
