Haven't been posting much but work plows slowly ahead! To randomize the level order a bit, I'm putting in an Overworld Space Map, allowing the player to pick what Planet to visit (probably no more than one level per Planet). This also has been a great excuse to save little snippets of text and typography to use as Planet names, although before I get much further I should probably search each of these and make sure they're not, like, secret slurs or something.

(This is just a slapdash demo, none of the names and planet icons are together for any particular reason)

Needlessly confusing spells by school

Abjuration: When you suffer wounds, history alters so that you actually suffered that wound 10 years ago, changing your past but making it so it's fully healed now.

Conjuration: Summons another version of yourself who reveals they're the real you and you're the version of yourself that they just summoned with this spell.

Evocation: Spell that completely destroys the world and then instantly replaces it with a copy that's completely identical except the target in front of you is on fire.

Illusion: Retroactively reveal that anything around you never existed and was an illusion this whole time.

Necromancy: Spell that inverts the categories of dead and alive, so that the corpse is alive despite being inanimate and rotting while the person is dead despite walking around and complaining about it.

Transmutation: Frog prince spell but when they get true love's kiss they turn into a completely different human from the one they started as.

I just had a dream where for some reason I was reading a Scooby Doo novel but the “mystery” was the fact that there was an extra couple of new dogs besides Scooby and it was only for the reader to figure out because the whole gang acted like they had always had those other two dogs with them from day one.
