What if Celine didn’t know?

What if Mi-yeong got pregnant by a mysterious lover, whom she never told her band mates much about. She’s just being very private, they figure, maybe it was a short-lived romance that she wants to move on from.

She has Rumi, and, huh, that’s some strikingly purple hair, but she’s otherwise the spitting image of Mi-yeong. She’s a happy, healthy baby with a mother who adores her and two demon-hunting aunts looking out for her.

And then Mi-yeong dies. And Celine is left to care for baby Rumi and it isn’t long at all before she finds out that Mi-yeong’s baby has demon patterns.

Her best friend is dead and also her best friend, her band mate who she spent years performing with, living with, hunting down and killing demons besides, had a baby with a demon. Her entire worldview, her purpose, is turned on its head.

And Celine wonders if she ever really knew Mi-yeong at all.

do you guys think Takedown gets removed from all their future performances? maybe rumi got a really bad panic attack because of the trauma while they were practicing and then they all took the decision to get rid of it.

what if for a while rumi cant even tolerate the girls touching her or approaching her from behind because it takes her back to the idol awards stage.

I like the idea of Rumi continuing to flesh out a different version of it ( “when your patterns start to show, I see a pain that lies below” ) that becomes a song about her becoming more empathetic and open to her demon side, which she eventually releases as a slower acoustic track (same vibe as when she was practicing it by herself).

A big talking point around Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld is the concern about it getting cancelled after the first season. Many people seem apprehensive about starting the show because they don't want to get invested in something that's going to leave them hanging. Many other people are pointing out this is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy; people don't watch the show because they're afraid it will get cancelled, and then it gets cancelled because not enough people watched the show.

I'm going to side-step that argument and make a different one: you should watch Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld because it's still a great show even if it does get cancelled after its first season. While it would be awesome for this show to continue, what we have right now is a rather complete story that doesn't leave you hanging. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger and there aren't really any loose threads after the finale. If someone told me Jentry Chau was intended to be one season only from the beginning, I'd believe them.

I'm not saying Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld shouldn't continue. I really want it to. What I'm saying is that you're not risking as much by watching the first season now as you may think it you are. The people that made the show have voiced that they want to make more, but they clearly made the first season to stand on its own in case they can't.

So please, watch Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld. It does not need more, but I and everyone else who's watched it really want more.
