@phantomnonsense
this is all I make now
truly there are only so many words
The very best thing about The Phantom of the Opera is that it shows us a possibly supernatural occurrence, then gives us a natural explanation that is infinitely crazier than the supernatural one would have been.
What if there was a ghost in the opera house that was killing people?
Requires you to accept the existence of ghosts, but otherwise is a straightforward story.
What if the chief contractor who built the opera house was a deformed circus freak who used his experience building palaces and torture chambers for sultans to keep building secret passageways and torture chambers in the basement when construction halted during the Franco-Prussian War, and then kept living down there working on an opera and killing and blackmailing people who crossed him and also training a pretty opera singer that he wants to marry?
There is nothing in the world that could have prepared me to expect even half of that.
If Mr. Mistoffelees were human he would look like Grimsley from Pokemon
Thinking along these same lines, Macavity would look like Lysandre
one of the biggest cultural gaslights happened when people started to treat dracula by bram stoker as a dark romance story instead of the victorian og scooby doo shenanigans
Same goes for Phantom of the Opera, really
I am grateful for SparkNotes on social media
me after I take 17 benadryl and start seeing the hat man
Pity comes too late-turn around and face your fate:
An eternity of this before your eyes...
And sketch of erik based on that one recording where phantom lost his cape during the main song (sorry i cannot find the og post with the gifset)

yikes, unfollowing now. was a huge fan of his opera. had no idea he kidnapped the lead soprano and threatened to kill her fiancé if she didn’t marry him

Forget going to the club on a Friday night,
Go to your fridge, unhinge your jaw like a snake, and eat a dozen raw eggs whole
love that both The Phantom of the Opera and The Hunchback of Notre Dame took these beautiful pieces of architecture and said "what if a weird guy lived in there"
scroll for me my angel of blogging
A wise person once told me, "The PotO squeakquel shoulda been a gilded age situation," and I took that personally.
post for me, my angel of tumblr
First thing that popped into my head 😁 🥔
being able to play songs in your head is cool and all but not really if you can't control what and when it plays so this is a visualization of me trying to concentrate while angel of music plays in my head
