I own this book and it’s about 600 pages and it’s ALL this good. You can play as hamlet, Ophelia, or hamlet sr, who is a ghost. You can murder everyone in the play. You can fire yourself out of a cannon and use your uncle as a skateboard. There are dozens of endings and places where you can diverge from canon and do something wacky instead. 10/10 would recommend

and what if it was 100% an adventure made up by Caine, and who is the first person able to confirm that this was bullshit? If we run on the assumption that Abel was just an NPC; it'd be Kinger, probably.
I totally understand her stopping at the end and being like "wait, let me double check there WON'T be any consequences we don't know about." and going to Kinger for any additional guidance.
I guess I'll add general thoughts here for anyone who cares, cuz this episode was so interesting.
like, imagine if the next two episodes are just the reactions to the events of this episode. What if in the last episode it's just, another silly adventure with nothing more to it?
we may never find out what would've happened if they pressed the blue button. that may have been their last chance of escape (if we take Abel's info at face value), and now there is no way for anyone to leave ever again.
I love how this episode gives us so much information, but not enough to truly answer the question of if it was all real or if it was bullshit.
You could argue that Kinger didn't recognize the name Abel, but it was implied that it wasn't his actual name, so how would he be able to recognize him?
You could also argue that Abel is too smart to be an NPC, but we know that NPC's can get really smart in this show, they can probably remember past lives(see: gummigoo ep 4), and can become very real in their emotions and perceptions or whatever.
Depending on what this episode truly was, there could be a glimmer of hope for our cast of characters. But it could equally be this grim tragedy of them being stuck in the circus forever.
And isn't that the most fucked up part of all this?

Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.
