The staining qualities of blood (a zoro x gn! reader fic)
summary: Zoro had recovered from the injury he suffered in his fight against Mihawk, the crew was back to their daily anticsâŠbut why was his blood still coating your hands?
warnings: sleep deprived reader, blood, nightmares, descriptions of death, loss of sense of reality, unhealthy way to deal with problems (please always speak to people and get help), angst to fluff pipeline, written in my notes app (the format might be a bit off the tumblr app is a bit of a pain in the assâŠ)
note: Hi, so⊠something possessed me to write this. I hope someone enjoys the read.
Also I tried to keep the descriptions as gender neutral and unspecified as possible. If I missed something please feel free to let me know. Anyways, off you go down the angst-fluff express. Shoo.
ââđââ
It had been quite some time since Zoro had lost his fight to Mihawk. An incident which most certainly had taken a toll on the crew. Zoroâs injured state keeping everyone on their toes for the past few days. How many exactly? You werenât quite sure, your recollection of the events were nothing but a blur of green hair and red blood.
The first few nights you hadnât slept at all, your brain reliving the memories of the incident on a loop.
Watching Zoro fall, rushing to his side, keeping pressure on his wound, blood oozing out from underneath your palms. Praying to whatever higher force you initially didnât even believe in to give the swordsman enough strength to recoverâŠ
And to the relief of the whole crew recovering is exactly what he did.
Love this đ
Things have been rough and I've been thinking about waking up to snuggles from Batman in the morning.
Bruce knows it's wrong but after saving you from a mugging months ago, he's been keeping tabs on you. It must've been something about those big frightened eyes or the grateful way that you ran and hugged him after he saved you. Bruce isn't used to feeling good about himself and the way that you held onto him was addicting.
He knows where you live and work as well as every single ounce of your personal information. He just can't help himself. You start finding boxes wrapped with black paper and black bows on your doorstep every once in a while. Bruce can't help that either. He sees something that reminds him of you and buys it. It's not like he doesn't have the money for it. The gifts are always perfectly suited to your needs and interests, oftentimes embroidered or engraved with your name as well. It helps him feel like he's reimbursing you for helping him.
Bruce hasn't been feeling well recently. He's healing up from multiple broken bones and a nasty concussion, though he goes on patrol anyway. To make himself feel better after a long night, he silently climbs through your bedroom window and watches you for a bit before injecting a sedative into your system. You don't stir in the slightest as he closes your curtains and slides into bed next to you. He simply holds you, rubbing your back and scalp as he feels the loneliness and self loathing leave him. His legs tangle with yours as he holds you as close as he physically can without hurting you. It's the best rest he's gotten since he was a child.
Bruce must've miscalculated the dose thanks to his concussion last night because you wake up much earlier than him this time, somewhere around 4 AM. You wake up to a hazy mind that tries to drag you back into unconsciousness, warm arms around you, and a solid torso pressed against you as the massive figure beside you quietly rests. You begin to panic, squirming and trying to get free, which wakes Bruce up as well. The only thing that he can think to do is inject you with a different medication that knocks you out before cuddling back up to you again. He knows that he'll have to do something to fix this and convince you that it's all okay but for now, he just wants to hold you.
i forgot that you existed; dracula.
track one of LOVER

synopsis: you share dreams of past lives with your soulmate
word count: 3.4k
Your dreams have always been a source of confusion amongst your family. Theyâve always been vivid, and almost always been the same. Flashes of dancing in crowded rooms with people wearing extravagant clothing at parties running until way after the clock struck midnight. Your soulmateâs always been the sole person youâve danced with in the dream, and even if you canât make out his face, you can tell from the way the other dancers look at him he must be handsome. His presence seems to command the attention of everyone in the room, and if it were to happen in this life then you know youâd be much too nervous to have everyoneâs eyes on you to enjoy dancing.
Being able to connect to your soulmate via your dreams has always been a strange system. You get flashes of past lives together but canât physically see what your soulmate looks like until you reunite with them in this life. You have a few clues; you know that your soulmateâs tall, like over six foot tall, and it seems like in a past life he was rich if your suspicion that the ball youâve been dancing in every night is in honour of your soulmate.
Your dreams have been getting increasingly darker though, with flashes of things that you canât quite place but leave you waking up crying or screaming. Itâs started to worry your parents when they call to see how you are and itâs clear youâve not been sleeping. Thereâs no medicine to suppress soulmate dreams and sleeping tablets leave you feeling trapped in lucid dreams, aware itâs a dream and yet unable to escape to the safety of the waking world.
Hannibal/Will x Reader
(Hannibal messed up and you saw one of his kills)
YOU LIKE TO CLING, LIKE AN OCTOPUS
PAIRING: Hannigram x Gender Neutral Reader SYNOPSIS: Will is a crazy sleeper, but not in the way people think. Sure he was plagued by the occasional nightmare and sweat through his clothes, but something that was more bothersome than that was his cuddliness. Not even four hours after laying in bed, Will's limbs would hold you prisoner. You found it asphyxiating, Hannibal found it amusing.
It wasnât that you didnât love sharing a bed with your husbands. You didâdearly, deeply, with the kind of devotion that would make poets jealous and therapists concerned. But Will Graham in his sleep? That man was a menace.
It started innocently enough: a leg draped over yours, a sleepy sigh, a murmur into the dark. Harmless. Sweet, even. Youâd smile, shift a little, let him have that closeness, but then the transformation began.
By midnight, Will was an octopus.
A clingy, heavy, overly affectionate octopus with too many limbs and zero awareness of personal space. Youâd wake up unable to breathe, Hannibal on one side and Will plastered to you like a second skin. Hannibal, of course, would sleep perfectly stillâdignified even in unconsciousnessâwhile Willâs arm was across your chest, his leg hooked over your hip, and his head nestled in your neck like he was trying to merge with your DNA.
The first few times, you endured it. After all, this was Will. The man you loved. The man who would burn the world for you if he thought you needed warmth. But by the fourth night of waking up half-suffocated, you realized something had to give.
So you began your midnight migrations.
Sometimes to the couch. Sometimes to the guest room. Sometimes to the futon at the end of the bed, just so you could breathe. Hannibal never commentedânot at first. He would simply glance at the empty side of the bed in the morning, raise a brow, and then at breakfast, ask mildly: âDid our resident cephalopod chase you away again?â
Little Thief (Part 5)
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
Summary: A fox, a crime lord, and a bat eat some soup. This isnât the start of a dad joke.
Trigger Warning for implied/reinforced child and animal abuse.
I'm Dyslexic, and don't have a beta, so spelling mistakes are likely to happen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A large, warm hand softly ran across your back. You cracked your eyes open to look at the political drama playing on the tv. You snuggled closer to your dad, warm and steady.Â
âHey, you alright?â You looked up at his face. He had his signature goofy smile and quirked eyebrows, and you couldnât help but giggle.Â
â âm okâ you answered sleepily, tucking yourself further under his arm, âhowâs the show?â âToby Ziegler just found out his ex-wife is pregnantâ âooo, exciting,â you sang out, eyelids already slipping back down.Â
âIt isâ your dad absently confirmed, his hand picking back up its petting. Your eyelids shutting once more as you relaxed back into the comfortable rest of the night.
WARNINGS : Platonic, Protective Behaviour, Soft Yandere Behaviour, Implied Child Neglect, Trauma Bonding, Emotional Dependency
Imagine Jason Todd â the Red Hood â finding you one night on patrol. A scruffy, half-feral âkidâ scraping by on the streets of Crime Alley, all sharp edges and haunted eyes. You catch his attention immediately, though he canât quite say why at first. Maybe itâs the white streak in your hair, the unnatural green in your eyes, tell-tale remnants of the Lazarus Pit. It doesnât matter how or why you ended up there: whether you were an innocent caught in the wrong place or someone with a past tangled up in the League of Assassins. What matters is that Jason recognizes something in you.
You just look so scared. And who could blame you?
Dragged back from death only to wake up in a world that feels colder and meaner than before, left to survive among the ruins of Crime Alley. When Jason looks at you, trembling in the shadows, scavenging for scraps, he doesnât just see a kid. He sees himself.
The old Jason Todd, the one who slept under fire escapes and stole to eat. And the Jason he became, angry, broken, and rebuilt by something crueller than death.
It hits him harder than he expects. Because he doesnât know you. He shouldnât care. But the thought of you ending up like him, that same spiral of rage and loneliness, makes something twist in his chest. So, before he can stop himself, heâs already reaching out.
And just like that, heâs got a kid under his wing.
A wary little thing who flinches from loud noises and hides behind his furniture, peeking out like a stray cat just brought in from the rain. Jason has to work for your trust, quiet gestures, soft words. He leaves food out in the middle of the room, between you both, like a peace offering. He doesn't force you, just waits with an unfamiliar patience.
Itâs awkward, and frustrating, and painfully familiar. But he keeps showing up. Keeps making space for you in that messy apartment of his, until âthe kidâ becomes his kid â even if you never agreed to it.
Because Jasonâs the kind of man who canât save himself, but heâll burn down half the city to save you from becoming what he did.
ⶠJUST A SCRATCH BABY
SYNOPSIS. They donât even care about the pain. Not really. The second it happens â that flash of red, your gasp, your trembling hands â they only see you. You, horrified. You, crying. You, apologizing. And it kills them in a way no wound ever could.
PAIRINGS. Yandere!batboys x Fem!reader
FEATURING. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne.
NOTE. English is not my first language so I'm sorry for any mistake.
DICK GRAYSON
It happens fast â a swing of a door, a kitchen knife, a training accident. He hisses through his teeth, and suddenly thereâs blood.
You panic. He doesnât.
âHey, hey, look at me,â he says, voice soft, steady. Heâs already reaching for you, despite the cut.
You try to pull back, stammering apologies, but he just laughs â low, tender. âShh. Baby, itâs fine. Just a scratch.â
He wipes your tears with his thumb, smearing a bit of his own blood without noticing.
âDonât cry, please. You didnât do anything wrong,â he murmurs, kissing your forehead.
Later, when itâs cleaned and bandaged, he teases â just to make you smile.
âYou drew first blood, huh? Guess Iâm yours now.â
But when youâre asleep, he sits awake a while, staring at the bandage â almost shaken by how much it hurt to see you cry over him.
Heâd take ten knives before heâd ever want to see that look again.
JASON TODD
He flinches â not from pain, but surprise. Then he sees your face, pale and wide eyed, and heâs already trying to calm you down.
âHey, hey, itâs okay. Iâve had worse.â
Youâre shaking, voice cracking with apologies, but he catches your wrist, steadying you.
âStop,â he says, firm but gentle. âDonât you dare cry over me. Itâs nothing.â
You keep looking at the blood â on your hands, on him â and he grabs your face in both palms.
âEyes on me. Not that. Me.â
Thereâs a strange smile when you finally look at him â soft, almost proud.
âYou hit harder than you think, princess.â
Later, when youâre cleaning the wound for him, he watches you in silence, thumb brushing your cheek.
âNever say sorry again,â he murmurs. âIf you ever hurt me, I probably deserved it.â
And he means it.
TIM DRAKE
You barely nick him â but the blood feels like an accusation.
Your heart stops. His doesnât even falter.
âWhoa, whoa, itâs fine,â he says immediately, hands up in surrender.
Youâre apologizing so fast he can barely get a word in.
Heâs laughing â gently, trying to lighten the air. âHey, itâs not like you stabbed me on purpose, right? âŠRight?â
But when he sees youâre really shaking, the joke dies.
He steps closer, careful, takes your hands in his â blood and all.
âLook at me,â he says softly. âIâm okay. I promise. You didnât hurt me.â
And later â when youâre cleaning the wound with trembling fingers â he studies you, something tender and dark flickering behind his eyes.
âI didnât know youâd panic like that,â he whispers. âDonât ever be scared of me bleeding. Iâve bled for worse things.â
Heâll tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, smile faintly.
âBesides, if youâre the one who made me bleed⊠Iâll survive.â
DAMIAN WAYNE
The cut is shallow â barely anything â but the sight of your face unravels him.
You drop the weapon, the object, whatever caused it, stammering apologies.
He doesnât even look at the blood.
He only looks at you.
âStop,â he says sharply â not in anger, but desperation. âDo not cry.â
He steps closer, despite your protests, catches your wrist.
âDo you think I would ever fear your touch?â
Thereâs something almost offended in his tone â but beneath it, something soft.
You whisper another sorry, voice breaking, and he exhales through his nose.
âYou wound me, and I comfort you. How poetic.â
The words sound cold, but his hands are warm, brushing your tears away, thumb streaking faintly with red.
Later, heâll stare at the bandaged cut â not with resentment, but reverence.
A mark from you, however accidental, feels almost sacred.
Heâll never tell you that.
But heâll look at that scar years later and still remember how your hands trembled over it â
and how much he wanted to kiss the fear away.
ⶠBLOCKED NUMBER
SYNOPSIS. You're tired. Tired of endless calls, of their obsessive behavior, of them. So you block them. Trying to cut them off. But that doesn't mean they make it easy for you.
PAIRINGS. Yandere!batboys x Fem!reader
FEATURING. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne.
NOTE. English is not my first language so I'm sorry for any mistake.
DICK GRAYSON
You block him at 2:03 AM.
He sees it at 2:05.
Itâs quiet in his apartment â lights off, half empty Chinese takeout on the counter, and your name sitting cold and grey on his screen.
User not found.
His chest goes hollow. Like freefalling. Like watching someone step off a ledge.
You always answered him. Even when you were tired. Even when heâd send too many messages, too many calls, too many I just wanna make sure youâre okay.
He scrolls through your old texts. The heart emojis. The goodnights. The voice notes. He canât breathe through the silence thatâs suddenly there.
By morning, heâs knocking on your door. Smile too bright, voice too gentle, eyes too desperate.
âHey, uhâ I think your phoneâs acting up. I couldnât reach you last night.â
He laughs like itâs a joke. Like his heart isnât cracking behind the sound.
Because Dick doesnât rage when heâs hurt â he drowns in it. Slowly. Quietly. Smiling through it, still trying to earn forgiveness for something he doesnât even understand.
And if you donât open the door, heâll just sit outside your building. Hoodie up. Phone in hand.
Waiting for the moment your status turns green again.
JASON TODD
You block him, and the silence feels like gunfire.
Heâd been trying to play it cool â fewer texts, shorter calls, trying not to scare you off. But when the message doesnât deliver⊠when his number suddenly goes from blue to greenâŠ
He knows.
âReally?â he mutters, jaw tight, tossing his phone across the couch. It hits the wall and falls face down.
He paces. Lights a cigarette. Doesnât smoke it. Just watches it burn out.
Then he opens another app. Makes a new account. Finds you in thirty seconds.
Your last post was two days ago. You look happy. Youâre with friends. Youâre smiling.
And for some reason, it makes his hands shake.
He tells himself heâs not mad. That youâre allowed to need space.
But heâs already halfway to your place before he finishes the thought.
When he sees your light on through the window, all that anger drains out and leaves him hollow.
He stands there in the rain â helmet under his arm, soaked to the bone â whispering to himself, She hates me now, huh?
Jason wonât knock. He wonât text. But youâll find little things the next day:
Your bike fixed. Your door lock replaced. An envelope on your windowsill with the note,
âI get it. You needed to breathe. Just donât disappear completely, doll. You donât get to vanish on me like that.â
TIM DRAKE
The moment you block him, he knows.
Not because he was texting you â but because heâs monitoring your activity like a man possessed. The last seen. The status. The tiny things only someone deeply, unhealthily in love would notice.
Then, itâs gone.
Your profile picture.
Your updates.
Everything.
For a moment, his brain stalls. Then it spins.
He checks his own messages â all marked ânot delivered.â
He checks your socials â no trace.
Then his heart twists into something sharp. You blocked me.
He tries to rationalize it. Maybe itâs an accident. Maybe your phone broke. Maybeâ
But no. You donât accidentally erase someone from every corner of your digital life.
He doesnât sleep that night. Instead, he stays up tracing the digital ghost of you â backup numbers, mutuals, archived messages.
He tells himself itâs to understand. To fix it.
When you wake the next morning, thereâs an anonymous email in your inbox.
âYou blocked me, but I still worry about you. Eat something today. Please.â
No name. No address. But the tone â that soft care, the kind that bleeds control â you know itâs him.
Youâll also notice your favorite coffee shop app glitching. The one you frequent daily? He pre paid your usual order.
Tim doesnât confront you. He lingers. Watching from every shadow of the digital world, making sure youâre safe â even if you donât want him there.
DAMIAN WAYNE
He doesnât notice at first.
He assumes youâre ignoring him â as if such insolence could possibly last.
Then Alfred tells him heâs been glaring at his phone for an hour.
He tries to send another message. It doesnât go through.
Blocked.
The word feels foreign. Like an insult. Like a wound.
He doesnât shout. Doesnât panic. Just sets his phone down and stares at it in the quiet of the manor.
Then he gets up. Grabs his coat.
Because Damian doesnât believe in distance. You canât just decide not to exist in his world anymore.
He finds you easily. Heâs trained to. He moves like shadow â steps silent, eyes burning with something between anger and heartbreak.
When he finally stands infront of you, he doesnât yell. His voice comes low, deliberate, edged.
âYou presume too much power, beloved.â
You tell him you needed space. That heâs too intense.
He breathes sharply â almost laughs, but it sounds painful.
âToo intense,â he repeats, as though the phrase itself is absurd.
Then, quieter, âYou think blocking me erases whatâs between us?â
He takes a step back, jaw tight, eyes glimmering with something fragile beneath the anger.
âDo as you wish,â he says at last, voice trembling just slightly. âBut donât think for a moment I wonât still protect you. Even from afar.â
And true to his word, he does.
No contact. No messages. But the moment someone bothers you, the shadows move.
Because blocking Damian only removes him from your phone.
Not your world.
This is fantastic, what the bloody hell was I thinking?! The black door with chipped paint loomed before you. It was an ordinary door, of regular height and width, yet it was so large and utterly imposing. I shouldnât be here, why am I here? âNo, no, stay down,â Severus murmured as you tried to get out if the comfy bed. âYou have a fever, you need to rest.â You huffed at his words, your forehead slick with sweat. âI have things to do,â you grumbled, âthe house isnât going to decorate itself you know.â Snape arched a brow at you as he sighed deeply.
He had been caring for you for nearly three days as your fever seemed to climb ever higher no matter what he did. He was worried, you could tell, but you hated to see him in such a state. If I could only get out of this bed, you thought as your body shook on a deep shiver. âAre you cold?â he asked as he placed a damp rag on your forehead. It felt wonderful. âIâm alright.â âYou are not alright, (y/n). Far from it,â he grumbled and you could not help but feel bad for your beloved.
I doubt Astarion ever gets completely used to you sleeping beside him. You, a fool, happily lays beside a creature that only knows blood and death. A mouse that steps into the jaws of a cat and expects them not to close.
And yet, there you are. You sleep soundly beside him, you reach for him in your dreams, you sigh happily when you holds you.
He doesnât believe it most days. He touches your wrist to feel your pulse thump slow and steady beneath his thumb. He rests a hand against your chest to feel the rise and fall of your lungs beneath your ribs. His fingers slip beneath your sleep shirt just to feel the warmth of you, to watch you wiggle away from his chilled touch, to hear your sleepy grouse.
An alive thing lays beside him. Flesh and bone, muscle and fat. You.
Youâre a fool, he knows it as do you. But youâre his fool and that thought makes his old, dead heart do something similar to beat, just a little.
