Being a bi guy quite possibly the funniest sexuality like dammmnnnn I know who John Waters is and jerk it to twinks in panties but I got a coffee date with Hetero Jessica from work at 3 thats her name heteroooo jessica thats her name folks thats what we call her hertero jessica
it's actually so crazy how much the simpsons would fucking suck if it didn't have any of the simpsons characters. just a bunch of shots of empty houses and streets for half an hour while nothing happens. that would be so badddd lol
yeah that tends to happen when you remove characters from media. without characters its all just background. i guess movies set in scenic locations would still land as kinda nature docs but even then
it only happens with the simpsons
this same criticism could be applied to nearly any media ever.
it's just the simpsons. are you a troll?
Dragon's right, if you remove all the Simpsons characters from Death Note it hardly changes anything
i miss everyone
Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
I want you to understand this. I NEED you to understand this. My mother read me the hobbit as bedtime story, and I started pushing myself to read before pre-school so I could in fact read the hobbit for myself instead of having to wait for bedtime.
I didn't do so right away but jesus wept I PUSHED myself to learn to read SPECIFICALLY so I could read The Hobbit! It is, in fact, a children's story! And children only see page count as 'there is a lot of this fun story to read!'
waaaay back when I was a cashier in retail we would talk about dumb shit while unloading the truck, and we got to the "what would you do in a zombie apocalypse" me and another worker were like yeah we would just die. End it all, we can't fight or run or shit. I refuse to put that much effort into survival.
And my manager was like no!!!! If that happened, I would drive to find you guys in my truck and we could eat stuff from my wife's garden and I would make sure everyone I know survived!! I would carry you all on my shoulders away from the zombies!!
Anyway, random shout out to that guy. You were too kind for retail management, Devin.
also afterwards everyone who was talking about their cool bunker fantasies were like "Damn, Devin's right, we should also be considering helping people around us." which is the only recorded instance of a retail shift making people better human beings.
That’s exactly why I don’t like most zombie apocalypse stories (or most other post apocalypse stories). They always fall into the trap of Everyone Being Awful.
The idea that societal collapse exposes mankind’s true nature ignores one thing: society IS mankind. We make it, just by being around each other. Social mores and customs aren’t arbitrary rules inflicted on us by some unseen force, they’re our own behaviors and views. We say please and thank you because we want to be kind. We establish charities because we want to help others. We set up garbage cans because we want to be clean. We’re the ones setting the standards and frowning at the people who don’t rise to meet them. We’re the ones who are appalled by the cruelties in our history.
Yes, we’re capable of truly awful things, but we’re also capable of remarkable kindness. We’re capable of more goodness than we give ourselves credit for.
THANK YOU
The problem with nearly every post-apocalypse story is that they take the worst behavior of people during a riot or a natural disaster, extrapolate it to all of humanity, and assume that situation never changes. But even the worst disasters end. Hurricane Katrina looters aren't still looting. And there were far more people helping than looting.
I'm so tired of this assumption that the worst of humanity is "realistic" while the best is cartoonish or childish. Every single time there's a disaster, or a crisis, you see people helping and people risking their lives for others. Hell, we've even had societal collapses before and we've rebuilt civilization every time. The real childishness is assuming all people are, at heart, selfish and uncaring. Because that's how bitter teenagers who have never experienced the world view it.
the last of actual designs that I have…..much to plan much to draw
"he would not fucking say that" but about injuries. he would not fucking recover that quickly. those scars would not fucking heal like that. he would not be fucking able bodied after that. he would not be fully lucid after that.

I quote this and laugh to myself very, very often.
Getting down on my knees and thanking the humans who invented dishwashers and washing machines.
InsNe that dishwashers are more efficient and easier than just washing them manually but they also use less water. It’s a win win situation
They ALSO sterilize dishes, due to operating at a far higher temperature than human hands could ever tolerate. It's a win every way.
Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.
He said the exact same thing, which I did not know before that, so spreading this knowledge.
where did the quote of "in the end i cant say i hated mirabel" come from?
It's a translation of one of the lines from the end of Trails to Azure.
Explaining the entire setup would require spoiling like four separate games in the franchise. Obviously I can't explain it without your question itself giving away at least one twist antagonist, but she kind of sucks and her motivations make no sense anyways.
Still, I won't spoil anything else. Here's a short and otherwise spoiler-free explanation as to why we quote this all the time.
Trails/Kiseki has a lot of really bad habits that it does nonstop. Among them:
Refusing to kill anyone or commit to any serious consequences
Redeeming villains by telling you that you, the player, think they're cool actually. They weren't so bad. All those warcrimes they did? Those were just goofs. Funny gaffs between friends.
Two of the most egregious examples of these happen in rapid succession at the end of Trails to Azure, which we did a fully-voiced playthrough of alongside its prequel Trails From Zero. This character, Mariabelle, basically stabs a guy to death in front of you with magical javelins after spending two entire games doing a whole host of other awful things.
Even during the stretches of the game where she's meant to be your friend she acts like a freak and kind of a sex pest. She's not a very likeable character at the best of times, and at the worst of times she's War Crimes Annie.
The game ends with her turning to your party and going. "Oh, that guy I stabbed through the body ten times with spears? Don't worry, he's fine. I had the safety on." Then she teleports away and faces no consequences for any of the atrocities she did. She tells you she just got hired for an executive position at Club Terrorism and she goes to do that. The party then turn to each other one by one and all say some variation of "Y'know what, maybe she isn't so bad :)" when she is, demonstrably, absolutely that bad.
This is a reverse of another stock phrase of ours: "He loved you by the way".
We quote that one to make fun of bad writing that tells you about a relationship without actually putting in the work to make it feel real (bonus points if it's after the fact or the character is dead/sucked and they want us to like them retroactively).
"I can't say I hate Miriabelle" is the inverse, where the game is insisting that you loved the character. Didn't you? You did, right? I sure hope so because all the characters are going to act like you did.
It sucks a lot.
Here's the moment in context for anyone interested, but please be aware if you click this you're going to be hit with spoilers for 120 hours worth of Trails games (but especially Zero and Azure)
scrungly sad-sack sister, big liar, needs hugs badly.
how it feels to message a friend who's having Problems that you can't do anything to help with.
Do you have any skeletons in your closet?
Ok like. Imagine life without ads. You wake up, check your messages across a variety of apps, no ads. You get up and put on the tv while you prep your breakfast, no ads. Maybe you drive somewhere and switch on the radio, no ads. Maybe you drive a long distance, yet somehow, not a single billboard on your path. You pick up a newspaper or magazine to pass the time, no advertisements only articles. You turn on your game console, the home screen is just about your games, no ads to buy more. You open a streaming app, you don't pay extra for no ads, there's just no ads ever.
Think about how much of your time is spent looking at ads. "Download ublock" yeah I know, I have. But that doesn't change that the world is covered with endless advertising. Imagine never seeing that again. How much better our lives would be.
