Now would it be appropriate of me to post what I think the death note characters favourite positions are.

I don’t think Mello is a pet names sort of guy at all really,

If he wants something out of his significant other maybe he could use them, but I couldn’t see him particularly enjoying it. I believe he’d think it makes him look soft, he especially would hate to do this in front of the mafia.

As for being called pet names though? ( in private , I should say , he’d be completely humiliated if it was in public ) I think he’d love it. I think it’d feed into his ego, but this depends on what pet name they’re calling him.

he would absolutely destroy anyone who challenged him, even a little kid. In a soccer match he would annihilate them with no mercy, then feel slightly bad afterwards but never admit it.

Probably has tried dabbling in many useless things to “be better.” He has tried three instruments and didn't really like any of them, he also tried learning a few different languages but eventually sort of gave up

has broken his arm trying to climb a tree as a kid. (This made him really upset since he only did it as a bet and failed. Probably was mad about it for a few months.)

spends most of his money on clothes and chocolate

takes really good care of his hair.

probably holds a grudge for a very long time. Like, if you insulted him he would remember all the way to his grave. This goes for compliments as well. 

feels personally offended when he gets sick

Listened to white girl pop music in wammy’s because they were the only CDs he could find. 

blows money on clothes. This guy would probably have some crazy set up where his clothes have like 2003058493 pockets and each one is chilled with some weird technology to keep his chocolate cool. (thats how he secretly always has chocolate)

I would love to rant about meronia, but I’ve been in such a mellodramattic mood lately.

I’ve always liked the idea that while both near and Matt love Mello, they love him in different ways.

Matt loves Mello in the way that he sees Mello’s flame yet he worries about just how bright it will burn until eventually he wears himself out, he has always wanted- ( after the Kira case ends and Mello packs up with the mafia stuff ) for them to have a nice life together, live together, live normally, Matt craves the normalcy of a simple life with Mello, but Mello knows he cannot have that life with Matt because Mello just couldn’t settle down and be normal in that way.

Near loves Mello in the way that he understands that Mello will never have a normal life, and near isn’t one for normal anyways. So near tries his best to compete with Mello’s flame instead of trying to put it out. He understands that he could never make Mello live the kind of life that Matt wants because near knows that Mello could never live such a life.

I think both near and Matt can be selfish when it comes to Mello, Matt is selfish in the way that he feels like he could try to force Mello into a life Mello doesn’t want, near is selfish in the way that he doesn’t want Mello to settle down or have a safe life because near craves the rivalry they have and he wants to see Mello’s full potential instead of forcing it down under the excuse of safety or normality.

- this could be ooc ,, it’s like 5am as im writing this. I definitely did have a better grasp of this idea at first but I think I’ve forgot it.

Regardless of whether you ship them or not, I think everyone can agree Matt has checked mello out at least once.

I’m a really big believer of asshole Matt. I won’t say the fanon version of him being more geeky and awkward is dislikable, I think it’s sweet, but along with that I think it should also be embraced that he’s probably an asshole. I mean come on, the guy’s a gamer.

I wish we knew more about Mello, specifically what he did after leaving wammys house.

It’s known that he joined the mafia a year before the timeskip, but what about before that? Did he work any jobs? Was he homeless? Renting motels? How was he getting money? Was he in a relationship?

There’s so much about him I wish we had been told.
