I love the color pink, perfume, kitties, horsies and bunnys. I collect hello kitty and barbies and Princess Peach and I’m very fond of the ot3 Diego/Gyro/Johnny. Sometimes I draw.

My little darling
Could Lucy Steel solve the Kira murders?
Could catch Kira, would survive
Could not catch Kira, would survive
Could catch Kira, would not survive
Could not catch Kira, would not survive
She’s chosen by God and is the smartest person ever written yes by God literally and she would wreck his stupid ass. That 24.6% of you are fools

The hatred of on screen sexual abuse and reducing it all to torture porn is what sets back so much discussion I hate it. I hate seeing it but I’m not going to say it’s all that either… Perfect Blue is kind of the best example. The film within a film is doing it for shock alone, but the actual story shows Mima about to be taken advantage of and it is not even remotely framed as ‘sexy’ or even ‘shocking’ because of course that’s what’s going to happen. And she kills his ass… she fights him off of her, but she was still assaulted. The filming of her SA scene in the story Double Bind feels worse, everyone hates it, it goes on forever, and she’s playing a character that you’re not supposed to even be sympathetic towards. It’s cruel and a genuinely disgusting guy wrote the scene in to punish her for her career management asking to make her more of a star. The actual assault Mima goes through is because a delusional man thinks he’s entitled to her as she’s ruining his idol’s life… they both have a revenge aspect in common. The whole film is about it, to some extent. It never actually demonizes Mima.
[image description: stills from revolutionary girl utena showing anthy's reflection in a cup of tea. she wears a blank expression while utena tells her, "if you'd just open your heart and talk to them, anyone would like you!" anthy asks, her face unchanging, "open my heart?" end description.]
If there's sexual abuse subtext no there isn't, if there's allusion to sexual abuse you're ruining it for everyone else by talking about it, if there's a metaphor for sexual abuse you're reading too far into it and it's actually a metaphor for anything more palatable, and if there's on-screen sexual abuse? Well that's exploitative torture porn, of course.
At the very least, they didn't deserve to be $200+ for a used copy, or to be falling into lost media.
AMERICAN MCGEES ALICE/ALICE MADNESS RETURNS YOU ARE SO DEAR TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom asked if I still had a crush on Kurt Russell…. Thought of that article that was like, do girls crush on Trent Reznor or just live through him. Not as potent for an actor vs a music artist but I guess yeah I do feel like it’s close enough. No mom, I wish I could go through life like Snake Plissken. Unfortunately, I’m a girl in this dystopia, not him in his.
We don’t get much backstory on him. He kind of doesn’t matter in his own story. He can’t outrun his reputation, good and bad. Which are subjective based on your own leanings… he doesn’t talk very much. We never hear compassion from him, and we see him ignore cruelty around him. But he does have a core built around some weird detached empathy. He’s very closed off and lives off of compartmentalization. In his suicidal world he still wants to live his life, even with hurt and nothing but misery, there’s no secret higher calling for him. There’s no moral to him. He’s aware he’s a tool and he hates it, but he doesn’t care. He’s very serious in his very stupid and crass surroundings… I kind of feel like he’s an Alice in Wonderland type of character without the whimsical, magical, youthful or curiosity aspects of those characters. I watched a video on why mazes and labyrinth stories are usually enjoyed the most by women and girls, through many different cultures and generations… I thought it was interesting, and a lot of it kind of reminded me of Escape From. To me, Escape from NY/LA are kind of like weird labyrinth stories for men. Snake is a blank slate unlike a lot of the characters from these stories though, which makes you more curious about him. Even the people in his story are surprised to see him.

My handwriting is the same style as the teacher’s who I had when I was nine. I’m now twenty one and he’s been dead eight years but my i’s still curve the same way as his.
I watched the last season of a TV show recently but I started it with my friend in high school. We haven’t spoken in four years.
I make lentil soup through the recipe my gran gave me.
I curl my hair the way my best friend showed me.
I learned to love books because my father loved them first.
How terrifying, how excruciatingly painful to acknowledge this. That I am a jigsaw puzzle of everyone I have briefly known and loved. I carry them on with me even if I don’t know it. How beautiful.
