As explained in the Previous Part, Douchka's resignation was a boon for Disney, so it's no surprise that her replacement was found SO quickly ...

This time there won't be another big casting, the company will choose one of Douchka's very young backing vocalist will take her place : Anne

Her success was dazzling !!

Already accustomed to the concept of Disney Ambassador, the public immediately attached to the newcomer :

Her success far surpassed that of Douchka !! Compared to her predecessor, Anne will have her own TV show "Disney Parade" and above all her own tour across France :

This show will serve as the perfect promotional tool for the upcoming opening of Euro Disney

Despite an open casting call for all talented young girls in France, Disney couldn't find a suitable candidate who met their requirements !

( Besides the fact that she had to know how to sing and dance, she especially had to be young and very pretty in order to work for them for as long as possible )

Disney france was so desperate they began approaching pop singer Karen Cheryl who, although very talented, was nevertheless too mature and sensual for the sugary image sought by Disney ...

Cheryl's producer, Humbert Ibach, would eventually propose his own stepdaughter : Bojidarka Esposito ( who, curiously, bore a striking resemblance to Karen ) to the firm

Disney was so impressed by her audition that they hired "Douchka" as their first brand ambassador in the French-speaking territory :

Douchka represented Disney in France for almost the entire 80s

But after 10 years of loyal service, she finally resigned, utterly disgusted by the little girl character that had become her trademark and that she could no longer stand ...

She never worked with Disney again and she only revisits her old discography on very rare occasions :

This departure will not disturb Disney ( which undoubtedly felt the end coming, Douchka becoming too old for her audience ) and a new casting to immediately look for a replacement is launched …

To promote himself, Walt Disney created his own Tv show in the 1950s :

The Mickey Mouse Club

This show, which ran for almost 68 years in the USA, and has been adapted in several countries ...

But in France, the concept was a nightmare to implement !!

The first attempt at a French adaptation " Salut les Mickey " was a resounding failure and was broadcast for barely a year :

The second attempt " Disney Club " may have lasted eight years but it had absolutely nothing to do with the original concept of young teen dancing and singing that the Walt Disney Company was looking for :

Disappointed by these two costly failures, Disney decided to push ahead, alternating between children :

These short-lived collaborations ( which mainly consist of audiobooks or just one or two existing songs translated hastily ) are not failures … but they are not resounding successes either !

Disney France, visibly frustrated, will opt for the easy way out by betting on a young singer already known to all French children : Chantal Goya

This brief collaboration will be a success !!

Her new songs inspired by the characters provided by Disney will become little hits sung on repeat by children :

Even if the commercial operation was a success Chantal Goya does not correspond to the criterion required by the firm, she was then 35 years old, an age considered too advanced to represent Disney ?

This collaboration was in reality only a test for see if the French public was ready for a real ambassador of the brand
