I think they should be allowed to exist on AO3, but coffeshop aus most of the time are literally romanticized workplace sexual harassment (getting hit on by your boss or customers is not fun irl), and the authors of those fics have way less awareness of why this would problematic irl than most authors of dead dove fic. Dead dove authors label the problematic aspects of their work, while coffeshop AUs often try to sell me basically dubcon as fluff.
