There are issues throughout the medical industry and college system that contribute to this Medical schools are really fatphobic towards fat people's bodies donated to science, if they even accept them.

Hospital furniture isn't made for fat bodies surgeons may simply not have the training to care for us safely. which makes them dogshit surgeons, skill issue get gud, but it's also systemic.

i decided to research why liposuction is contraindicated for removal over 30 lbs, and the answer made me furious.

essentially, it’s because fat is a complex organ, which includes multiple types of tissue and blood supply, and doctors don’t actually understand what the possible long-term effects of removing large chunks of this organ are. as in: we don’t know what removing fifty pounds instead of 30 might cause. or a hundred. or whatever. it’s never been studied.

i’m not suggesting jumping immediately to human trials or anything, but maybe, just maybe, studying fat as an organ rather than as unwanted excess tissue that serves no purpose would help clarify the problem.
