also as a repulsed alloaro aspec spaces are so often hostile towards me. no one treats romance repulsion as real so you still have people bringing up romance right in front of you or even dragging their partner along in whats meant to be a safe space. and then half the people there imply theyre better than the allos because they don't have sex/have less of it when basically my only way of connecting with someone is through that. being aro is now seen as more of a philosophy rather than an actual orientation (thank you partnering aros who keep saying shit like "everyone should become more aromantic" and "everyone should date and kiss their friends! abolish romance and monogamy!") so now people treat me being aro more like me declaring that i'm a cool poly person who's ~woke~ about romance and writes long thinkpieces about it when in fact i just really fucking hate this weird ass scarily obsessive relationship structure and all the uncomfortable touching and fake gestures that have to go along with it and get physically nauseous if i imagine myself in anything similar.

Oh anon, I understand that. I‘m autistic and aromantic, also possibly afamilial, alove and some other anattractional identities.

I have dealt with so many horrible things because of that for more than a decade. Today I‘m still getting bullied in some ways, I‘m very bad with most people my age and only really manage to make friends with other neurodivergent people.

I have so many problems left. I don’t know if it’ll be okay one day, I just know that today it’s a lot better than last year.

I do not know if my advice is helpful in any way or if you’re also suicidal or anything but, tell yourself to survive, you‘ll get tired, really tired, but you gotta pick milestones, tell yourself to work through life until the holidays, tell yourself to go on until the next time you can talk to your friend, or even tell yourself to just go on until dinner or until you can go to sleep. I don’t know how old you are anon but people can be extremely difficult with someone like us, especially school kids and parents. I hope this doesn’t come of as me turning your concerns into my own vent, I wanted to tell you that you aren’t alone and that maybe it will get better.

I have gone through many things to improve my mental health, the relationship with my parents, and to claim resources and accommodations for my disabilities.

it's disability pride month guys, so let's stop with the able-bodied & neurotypical headcanons for characters. make that character disabled! make them neurodivergent! give them mobility & support aids! make their disability affect them in some tangible way! give them mental & physical disabilities! make that injury disable them! & if the character is disabled in canon? expand on that! look at it deeper! research their canon disability & show some love to them!

make your own disabled rep & lift up the disabled rep we already have!

In reference to something I've seen quite a bit on posts about AroAllos talking about the stigma we face

I want to clarify that this is a topic with nuance, and obviously AroAces also face stigmatization and marginalization. What this comic is about is people who feel the need to comment about their own struggles on posts not made for them.

While yes, AroAces are underrepresented, this should not be brought up to discredit AroAllos talking about the erasure and stigma we face as a result of being AroAllo and not AroAce.

AroAces get more representation and visibility because AroAllos are viewed negatively just because we don't experience romantic attraction in turn with sexual attraction and this experience is unique to us. Dismissing what we go through only furthers the stigma.

Please remember that different identities have different experiences and someone talking about theirs isn't an invitation to look for who's "more oppressed".
