The headcanon that Eurydice can’t read makes the contract situation so much worse :(

I hc all she knew to write was her name, and she learnt that from Orpheus. But that was all she needed to sign the contract. Hades was probably like “whatever songbird just write your name” when she said she couldn’t read the contract.

I imagine the rarest/highest-denomination coins within Hadestown are Persephone coins and Hades just hoards them all. Even Hermes finds them hard to come by. Less-rare coins have Hades' face on them and a pomegranate stamped with an H on the back.

I also headcanon lil Broadway/Tour Orpheus once snuck a coin from Hermes' table to give to a busker (possibly a past Orpheus like NYTW or Vermont, lol) and it was a ticket to Hadestown... He didn't know that's what it was, he just wanted to be nice.
