Also like, there are HELLA safety regulations for children to be in cars.

Car seats are mandatory until a child reaches a certain height/weight. No children under a certain height/weight in the front seat. If you are driving drunk or recklessly with a child in the car, the punishment is greater. Rear facing seats for newborns, the driver is legally responsible for all passengers under the age of 16 to be wearing a seatbelt. You can't leave a child in the car. Depending on the country, you need to be a certain age to even begin learning to drive and still have to have a certified adult supervising you until you hit another age. Teen and young adult drivers have heavier rules around their driving, such as hours when they are allowed to drive, what roads they can drive on, and how many people they can have in the car with them.

The OP of the screenshot is acting like we're just letting kids in cars willy nilly. We're not. You have to follow so many protections with kids in a car because we recognize how vulnerable children can be in the event of a car accident, of if they're left alone in a car. Why wouldn't we have similar regulations around the internet, knowing children are uniquely vulnerable to being groomed, exposed to radicalizing content, exposed to graphic content, or misled?

Also also, not to point out the obvious but. Transportation is necessary to live and function in society. Kids have to get to school, their friends houses, the park, wherever else. Masturbating to videos of (mostly) women and girls getting assaulted and raped isn't necessary or beneficial for society or any individual.

All forms of transportation come with both risks and limitations which must be balanced bc going places is necessary. Children being exposed to porn isn't necessary.

A better (though still not perfect) comparison would've been alcohol. Unnecessary, addicting, not really good for anyone but especially bad for children. But of course that wouldn't have supported their stupid argument because we do prohibit children from drinking lol

Proper sex education doesn’t mean shit if the students have round the clock access to rape porn rotting their brains and their idea of a healthy relationship. Teaching kids how to use a condom doesn’t mean much if porn is teaching little boys how to slip off the condom. Teaching girls to speak up and set boundaries doesn’t do anything if the boys are learning from porn and online forums that when a woman says no, that means keep going.

To stop the ship from sinking, we have to plug the leak first. Bailing out the water is great but it doesn’t do much if it’s coming in faster than you can get it out. Kids are accessing porn earlier and earlier, their first thoughts when you mention “sex” or “relationships” is stuff they see in porn. We can’t have a generation of people able to have healthy, safe relationships until we get rid of porn.

It is always TIMs who come up with the most bizarre "facts" about biology, society, women and men, who is affected and who isn't, who is the most oppressed, what disgusting shit is actually not a problem, who is allowed to talk and which words and ideas are terfy and make you a bad person.

When they say that trans women are women and trans men are men they don't do it out of compassion for trans men, they do it because it is a way to shut them up. It ensures their position as the "most vulnerable women" and paints trans men as the oppressor class.

it’s interesting to me because they’re reinventing the same feminism that got most of us exiled as “TERFs”—advocating for female people, especially GNC female people, talking about the specific forms of misogyny we face when we go against prescribed femininity. this is exactly what made trans-identifying males hate us so much in the first place, and now they’re just as angry at transmascs for the same reason. they call them TERFs, too. and the transmascs seem to believe that they aren’t TERFs, because most of them have swallowed the narrative that real TERFs are people who love gender roles and want to kill GNC and trans people. so they can’t possibly be real TERFs because they’re just advocating against the oppression of GNC female people, and surely everyone can see there’s nothing evil about that, right? surely no one would hate them just for that, right?

it seems like the female members of the community have forgotten, but the males certainly haven’t: TERF has always just been a way to demonize GNC women who stand up for themselves against misogyny from within the trans community
