When my spouse was an undergrad, he lived in a unit where the washer/dryer only accepted token coins that had to be specially purchased from the management company for a ridiculous rate. Research showed the tokens were a standard industry size, so he and his roommate went on eBay and bought an entire lot of token coins from an arcade that was going out of business for about $10.
