#Thoughtofthedaywhere❄️ Sasuke was alone for Christmas. Alone was a strong word to describe his peculiar situation — being an orphan since his childhood, he didn't have any relative besides his older brother, Itachi, and... that was all, actually. He didn't have any friends, anyone beside his brother. And it was fine, really. Truly fine.
— You're not fine, said Itachi, with a inche of sadness.
Sasuke stared at the wall right in front of him. Since their parents' death, Itachi and him lived on their own in a little appartment in the center of Konoha. Itachi had to work hard from a very early age to earn money for him and Sasuke, to live at least a decent life. And Itachi was beloved by everyone, including his boss who made him his right hand man. And this boss in question needed his right hand man to accompany him for work this Christmas.
— I should be back on the evening of the 25th, though, continued Itachi, packing his suitcase.
Sasuke didn't what to respond at that. He knew Itachi would not be back for Christmas and honestly, he never was. It was alright. Sasuke could manage to stay alone for two days. It was just two days, right? Nothing too hard.
— Take your time, Sasuke responded, his voice shaking a bit.
Sasuke did not like spending his Christmas alone. It wasn't fine. He wasn't fine.

— But I want to eat ramen!
A pillow in the shape of a sun landed right onto Naruto's face.
— You're not eating ramen, you stupid, Shikamaru said, annoyed. It's freaking Christmas, we're all gonna cook tonight.
Naruto sighed. He really wanted to eat ramen.
Naruto hmmphg-ed under the pillow.
Shikamaru threw another pillow at him.
Naruto phdghdm-ed again. But he really–
— I said don't think about it! Shikamaru screamed.
— Yeah I get it, alright! Naruto screamed, too.
Sakura opened the door, glancing at them with furious eyes.
— Stop screaming for god's sake! she, too, screamed.
Naruto opened his eyes, threw the two pillows besides him on the floor, and started to laugh.
— He's going insane, Shikamaru whispered to Sakura.
Veins startes to pop onto Sakura's forehead. It was already eight o'clock, they haven't even started dinner yet, the others were about to come and these two idiots were throwing pillows at each other while screaming? She needed a break.
— I truly hate guys, she said before clacking the door behind her.

Sasuke's voice was strained but determined.
— I'm an adult, I can make my own choices like you do for yourself.
Itachi looked at him, smiling with a bit of judgement glitenning in his eyes. Okay, maybe Sasuke wasn't really determined by forcing his brother to be late for his job, but... But did he really had to go there?!?!?
— You'll see, it will be great, said Itachi before patting his head.
Sasuke groaned. He wasn't a child anymore. He should play the part, thanks Itachi and go on. But that was just a stupid idea. A ridiculous idea. No one has ever had a stupidier idea than this one. What was Itachi thinking?
— And perhaps you'll make friends!
— Like I need friends, Sasuke scoffed.
Itachi patted his head again before ringing the bell.
Sasuke raised his eyes to the sky.

Sasuke stared at the man in front of him.
— Hello to you too, dumbass.
Naruto raised his eyebrows. What was Sasuke doing here? Sasuke, his arch nemesis, his rival since forever, his–
Sasuke's voice was annoyed, but not as annoyed as Naruto was feeling inside of him. What. was. Sasuke. doing. here?!??!
— Oh, hey, Shikamaru said, besides Naruto. Itachi called. I didn't know you'd arrive this early, though.
Scanning the room with his eyes, he nodded with satisfaction when he saw everything in order.
Naruto groaned. He hated Christmas.
