Trying to be better about sharing my DIY and making original posts so:
My DIY Engagement Ring Box
I bought the outer box off Etsy from a seller in Greece (BronzeFinishArtworks), and then made the inner ring holder from blue velvet material, pins, foam, and cut up baby clothes.
The ring was also bought off a jewelry maker on Etsy (her insta is amity.jewelry); it's Australian black opal.
My fiancé Teddy and I got engaged in the redwood forest in Rotorua, New Zealand.
“Why did you put so much work into your own engagement box and pick out your own ring, doesn’t that ruin the element of surprise??”
I am a deeply particular person about my personal styling sensibilities, and my wonderful partner knows this well. While he would have been more than happy to execute all of this himself, he was also open to my taking the reigns because the amount of joy I derived from doing so was greater than it would’ve been from being “surprised”
All of this really just highlighted an aspect of our love that I love (hehe) which is: neither of us are fussed about strict adherence to tradition for traditions sake. We will walk along the path of the life that we’re building together in the way that best suits our needs.
