Fashion Show’11: Pisay Uniform
The last time this theme was used was the fashion show in 2007, the year before our batch entered pisay. It’s basically an alteration of the Pisay regular uniform into something more edgy.
We had the help of freshmen for the show, at least so they could have an idea what it’s going to be like for them next year. I think we were kind of incompetent as mentors because we had a hard time contacting them, but I hope they learned something from us. I hope.
Jeorge’s tie took me forever to make, also his dragon tattoo which took about two hours that isn’t seen in this photo, but he pulled it off really well. He even lent ray his gray sweater and let us deface one of his polos. We really do owe him a lot for those things. It’s the second time he had to model as the bad boy since last year, and he has been pretty consistent with how good he is at playing it.
Flora was a brilliant model as always. She has a certain aura that’s confident and sexy and I honestly can’t think of anyone else who could have rocked that short bubble skirt better than her. We were actually scared at first, because the wind was picking up and the skirt wasn’t made for that. Thankfully, all was well during the actual catwalk. Flora’s also very photogenic and her photos this year topped the shots of the punk show last year. She looked amazing in both.
I actually don’t know how we managed to convince Ray to model. He basically just walked in during one of our Physics classes and I asked him upfront if he wanted to model for us. We actually didn’t even have his outfit the day before the actual thing, and didn’t know if he was still going to model because he had an EngJourn thing during the morning. He wasn’t even present until 2 hours before the show. But he managed to get there in time, and even modeled for another group of sophomores too. He was a natural.
So I think that we could have prepared better for this, but I can’t thank our models enough for performing exceptionally the whole time. It’s the second time I’ve had Jeorge and Flora as models, and they’re really very cooperative and talented. The same goes for Ray who I’ve only worked with this year. We were very lucky, and did not make a mistake in choosing them.
Personally, it wasn’t a bad last piece. We could have done a lot better, but it still turned out better than expected. I’m going to miss this after I leave Pisay. I really will.
