somebody saying "hey i don't like that the only gay man in this story is a weird pervert and it portrays gay sexual promiscuity as a moral failing and character flaw" cannot be rebuked by arguing about how the character's backstory or personality traits explain their behaviour. the choices made by a writer are all fundamentally mutable; somebody saying an author's choices should have been different is not going to be persuaded by an argument that takes those choices as immovable fact

writing a movie about a violent man in a dress who kills women out of a desire to become one and then insisting over and over that it can't be transphobic (despite it's cultural influence to the contrary) because he isn't a real tranny is. well it's beyond parody isn't it.
reallyyy not a fan of the habit people have of deflecting guilt for making abhorrent and obvious caricatures of trans women in media by insisting that it was actually super progressive because he wasn't a real transsexual!! you see the same shit with rhps. just a complete failure to take some accountability and say "yeah that was insensitive we shouldn't have depicted a real group of people that way and it has brought them material harm as a result."
It's so frustrating when people pull the "but he isn't a trans woman," like yes, the transmisogynistic caricature will not be called a woman by the source material, please consider why that is

you guys need to be kinder to people you don’t find attractive. it’s getting ridiculous.
i’m fat, intersex, and disabled. so many times if i hung out with someone, their outfit gets complimented but not mine (even if i that person literally picked out my outfit so its not a matter of me just not having a good fashion taste). so many times have people treated other people around me kind but their attitude changes immediately if they have the misfortune to interact with me. i don’t do anything to warant this besides looking different. i get treated like i’m not there or not human. it sucks.
i know this affects more than just fat intersex disabled people. trans people, people of color, women in general, but especially those who have any of these traits or even just don’t wear makeup. dehumanization can be subtle. but we notice❤️

The reason I’m bringing this up now is because there seems to be a new marketing push happening for this device. It’s all over my feed on TT and IG right now.
They seem to be pushing the fact that there are new Nintendo64 games being made for the M64. This is very misleading because any game that runs on the M64 will run on a real Nintendo 64.
There’s also been new games coming out for the Nintendo 64 for years. ModRetro didn’t make this happen. They’re just publishing a few games. The Nintendo 64 Homebrew scene has been thriving on its own.
