I want lesbian movies about a hardened WWII female soldier who meets a headstrong but sweet nurse and fight for their love until they can eventually be together in a little cottage, passing off as spinsters with their age and just being seen as two friends living together. I want a lesbian movie about a quirky exchange student who falls in love with a girl in her exchange country but their language and culture barrier makes for slapstick scenarios that leave the audience face-palming and the characters blushing. I want a lesbian movie about friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, lovers to enemies to friends to lovers. I want innocence, I want passion, I want romance, I want comedy, I want more than what we have.

I want lesbian media that doesn't revolve around men or cheating or prejudice or betrayal or lust. I want lesbians, I want love.

I originally saw photos of Garbati’s Medusa a long time ago, but I specifically remember this post from earlier this year. Medusa was one of those pieces that really buried into my head and heart. Sounds silly, but just looking at it gives me strength.

Today I was lucky enough to see it in person. She’s incredible. And, something that the original pictures don’t show— she’s HUGE!
