Here's the primary issue with House of the Dragon....it's written and created with the assumption that the viewer has read Fire and Blood, and therefore has an understanding of how the story should go, and assumes that you know and understand certain story beats and characters....

However...

The show cherry picks what narrative points it's decides to sprinkle in, while telling a wildly different story...so different in fact that it can no longer be classified as an adaptation and forces the viewer to do all of the heavy lifting on behalf of the show. Only the show offers no incentive or payoff for any of the viewers willing to grant it this grace.

It's fundamentally a bad show. Regardless of its accuracy to Fire and Blood.
