*coughs*  Am I the only one who doesn’t particularly like Randy and Mike’s friendship?  I dunno…I just feel like Randy deserves better or maybe it’s just one of those personal things where I don’t like Mike all that much.  xD

Honestly, I don’t want a redemption arc for Randall, but I do think they need to address his past friendship with Mike. I don’t necessarily want them to be friends again because I really don’t think they’re healthy for each other (their friendship was doomed from the start), and Randall is too far gone now to ally with Mike and Sulley (this man has held a lifelong grudge on these two for the past 20 years or so), but I still think if PIXAR explored Randall and Mike’s past a little more, and how it has affected them and shaped them into the people they are now, it would make for an interesting story.

Sadly, I don’t think PIXAR will ever go too deep into it… but it’s a possible plot point for the next movie, if they ever considered it.

In some alt timeline, either Ryan has huge guts or Jack’s not as much of a tyrant, old Worthington is in the receiving end of Ryan’s cheeky attitude! Not to say Ryan wouldn’t respect his elders, but Jack never gave any, so.. hey why give it back?

Suffice to say, Ryan wouldn’t be able to resist sticking it back to ‘Fang’. A whack from his cane? Still worth it. 🃏

Them eventually making up and becoming close like they used to be is an interesting scenario but as their relationship stands right now, I can't see this ship actually working.... but I actually don't hate the ship and think it has a lot of interesting possibilities.

It's strange it gets so much hate on tumblr when @asante-weirdzowski pointed out from personal experience that the Mike x Randall ship is veeeery popular in Japan (she lived in Japan). I can vouch for this actually because I see more Mike x Randall fanart from the Japanese fanbase on Twitter than I do any other ship. Here's a few from my favorite Japanese Twitter artists (most of them also have Pixiv accounts):

It's funny because Randall x Johnny seems to be the most popular Randall ship on tumblr but I barely see it from the Japanese fanbase which is interesting...

Mike and Randall's dynamic is veeeeeery similar to SpongeBob and Squidward and Squidbob is practically canon, so.

Actually of all the Randall ships, this one tends to make the most sense to me (aside from Randall x Johnny) mainly because yeah they were friends at one time... it's likely they could have even dated at one point when they were college roommates. That was actually one of the most popular ships when this movie came out, at least on deviantart back in 2013. I wonder why it lost popularity over time.🤔

Idc honestly... I don't really ship them but it's still cute. 🥺 I'm never mad seeing content for it. I think it deserves more content.
