“The protesters outside started calling me a jezebel a lot more,” Hales said. “And I got letters in the mail saying that I deserved it.”

This wasn’t a “lone wolf” - this was a fully accepted member of the local “pro-life” community and instead of being horrified or disgusted by his actions they cheered him on and celebrated what he did. 

Let that sink in: these “protesters” are supporting this rapist. They know the graphic details of the rape and they are giddy about being able to traumatize her further through stalking and harassment.

I wear makeup everyday, I follow beauty trends. This post is absolutely not pitting women against each other. Society has conditioned me to see my natural face and be disgusted. I am too scared to go out without make up on, and it’s not healthy to be that way. I recognize how harmful makeup is to women’s perception of themselves, but I still wear it and I like wearing it. Women who refuse to wear makeup are brave and awesome. I hope eventually one day I’ll feel okay enough to do the same. Criticizing the makeup industry isn’t an attack on women 🙄
