A victim literally escaped Jeffrey Dahmerâs apartment naked with a hole drilled in his head and unable to speak but police let Dahmer take him back to his apartment like everything was ok!
And I guess he doesnât count as a serial killer but Eric Harris had already been making threats and harrassing students to an extreme degree before Columbine- police literally had a search warrant but they just never acted on it. If they had, they would have found the guns and pipe bombs and the shooting could have been easily prevented. They even tried to cover this up afterwards.
Serial killers and mass murders are usually not that smart, police have just historically refused to do their actual jobs.

Important to remember that people like Jeffrey dahmer targeted minorities because cops did not care about violence against them. Itâs not just cops being incompetent, itâs the systematic violence, racism, classism, transphobia, and homophobia in the police system
also I don't think parents "these days" are uniquely terrible, I just think neglect is showing up in new ways as technology progresses. today's ipad kid would've been wandering around in a ditch alone all day and night before. parents not wanting to have to deal with children is not a new phenomenon.

you have to consciously unlearn racism and continue to watch for it because it will come out without realizing. because so much of society is structured around it. shrugging and going "i dont care" or "i dont know how else to say it" means you are okay with being racist and hurting other people with how much you dont give a shit about them.

I, a hearing person who likes subtitles just as a preference, shouldn't have to read a subtitle that's obvious nonsense, go back a couple seconds, and listen again in order to figure out what's going on. An accessibility feature should not be the most half-assed part of a professionally made production. Scripted media has absolutely no excuse for not having subtitles or having subtitles that aren't perfectly verbatim. Professional captioning services should be ashamed of the shoddy work that they put out. Captions should be treated as a part of the production, just like filming, editing, audio balancing, etc - and anything that releases with missing or bad captions should be seen as unfinished
the worst part of summer is that people get sooo comfortable expressing their disgust at having to see other peopleâs bodies. theyâre always complaining about wrinkly old men at the nude hot springs or fat women in bikinis at the beach. I hate that shit. if youâre not capable of being normal about bodies you personally donât find attractive, just turn your head to look at something else! and if youâre not smart enough to do that, then at least do the rest of us the courtesy of suffering in silence, because we donât wanna hear your weird comments. thanks.

the place I work at remodeled these split gendered restrooms into âinclusive restroomsâ and never told us what they meant while construction was ongoing. I need you to know every atom of potential criticism or whining that couldâve happened disappeared when people found out this meant we got 10 fully separate private bathrooms with sinks inside. Iâve not heard a single person crack a joke about the inclusive signage. this is the world TERFs are trying to steal from you
This is called a "superloo" and terfs are actively trying to steal this from you, in the UK they changed bathroom regulations to mean new buildings have to prioritise gendered toilets rather than build superloos.
This also upset a lot of architects and designers who like the superloos. They're also typically more like small rooms rather than having doors you can look under.
