Trent Reznor and Pinkie Pie, a thread that no one asked for but I thought it would be funny.

I had a dream last night that I ran away from fascists and ended up at this farm that was full of this weird but very large prehistoric animal that was like a fluffy Tapir and I want to know if it actually exists. It was about the size of a Dairy Cow.
Like this but with big fluffy hair with white streaks
Oh my god
Emergency Doodle Commissions!
-hello! Normally I am wary of offering drawing artwork for money, as I'm not that confident in my skills, but, I could really use a bit of financial support at the moment. I'l be returning home from my studies abroad in a month, but my savings start to go dry and next money l'm gonna get is gonna be at the end of December. I just wish to be able to buy groceries and be able to spend rest of the month in peace 🙏 any assistance, I'l be grateful for.
-The doodles are drawn on Nintendo 3DS as I don't have my graphic tablet with me, so the quality might be a bit low :') also I'm willing to lower the prices down, if necessary. -Hell, I can even try drawing humans / other creatures, if you don't mind they might look a bit wonky. Just, am happy for any help. Thanks <'3 comment or hit me up in DMs, if interested

All you need in life is a color picker willing to expose you to the unbounded madness we call color vision.
me, absolutely clueless: "I want a color just like this one, but in red" color picker: Fuck you think you are, a Mantis Shrimp? Don't talk to me again until you can afford a wide gamut monitor.
what is even happening here 😨 wheres the circle with the triangle inside we all know and love..
The circle and triangle are a lie we tell ourselves to cope with the ugly reality... Now this-- this is the real deal!
In seriousness, this is oklch.com, a color picker for the OKLCH color model.
There are whole several hour lectures one could take in color science and theory, but to keep it short: the set of colors we can see, the set of colors monitors can display, and the set of colors computers can model are three circles that only somewhat overlap.
In this case, if I wanted this color
but in red, I could just go of Photoshop and move over the hue slider, getting this as a result:
Which is.. acceptable, but not as "bright" and "vibrant" as the green I had. Looking at the graphs in the OKLCH color picker, we can figure out why:
It tells us that a red with the same luminosity and chroma as this green is out of gamut—that is, it cannot be displayed by this monitor.
In this case, you can use the edges of the graph to find the color that is closest to what you want. You can, for example, keep the chroma but sacrifice lightness,
keep the lightness but drop the chroma,
or a bit of both, which is what the common HSV triangles already do.
But I like to know when it happens, y'know?
What if what *I* see as blue, *you* see as a slightly different blue because you're using Chrome instead of Firefox and despite a decade of messing with profiles we STILL can't get this right somehow.
Sucks that all the animals that are as smart as we are don’t have highly developed language centers. I just want to discuss the finer points of philosophy with a parrot.
I wanna live in a world where I can yell at a raven to get off my roof and it can tell me to fuck off.
In their language or mine. I’m willing to learn Raven language if it means that I can tell them where the good trash bins are.
I just imagined a raven running a language class pointing at pictures on a PowerPoint with his beak and making squawking noises and a bunch of 19 year old undergrads attempting to squawk back at him.

cats are great first pets for children because they immediately teach the child the consequences of overstepping boundaries and mishandling animals LMFAO. I grew up in a household with 5+ cats as an only child and every time I would come crying to my mom after I got scratched she would be like “what could you have done differently?”
people buy their kids reptiles and fish and hamsters and then find out they’re extremely delicate creatures that are not ideal for little humans to be responsible for but learning to refill a food bowl, scoop a litter box and dodge claws are things that young minds can grasp relatively easily while also having a furry friend. as much as it makes me cringe to see a toddler dragging a cat around, cats are far better equipped for babysitting than most of the traditional ‘let’s get our 5 year old a little pet’ animals. and it totally depends on the cat too, some won’t stand for it and will spend all their time avoiding the kid and some will willingly put up with being dressed in silly outfits.

So last month I got hit by a car and died right. Which I didn't initially realize until I watched some guy haul my body into his pickup and drive off. Which, being that it's deep in rural Michigan, I assume means my body will make some venison jerky and maybe some wall decoration, and I'll be resigned to being one of hundreds of deer ghosts floating around Saginaw, which is w/e. But then I find out the guy works at a taxidermy shop or something, and he's actually pretty good at stuffing and mounting deer carcasses, which I come to find out when I find myself face to face with my old body in the shop window. So naturally, I figure since ghosts need to possess something to interact with the living world and etc etc etc the most logical thing to do is to possess my own body, since it's basically a statue of myself. And a little surprisingly, it actually fits like a glove. Like, since it's my body, it feels like stepping right back into place. So I get out of town and back to my herd, eventually. And that's where the trouble starts coming into it, because after I get settled again, I don't know how to explain to everyone else what feels so weird. Like since I can move my body and do everything I used to do, it's functionally the same, like nothing happened. Or it SHOULD be, so I don't know how to explain how it's NOT. But it's just hard to explain it to someone who's never been hit by a truck I guess
I love Fallout magazines and how ridiculously over the top they are.
dead serious this is not remotely over the top when compared to the actual magazines this was based on. The slew of pulp mens magazines from the late 40s thru the early 70s played this type of thing completely straight. Only thing missing is there's no nearly naked woman being menaced by communists or nazis or increasingly implausible animals.
