Look I know ppl are avoiding spoilers and stuff, but how are more people not complaining about the boss that makes you rely on sound to dodge attacks?

Like in this age of inclusivity how did this make it past testing?

Sure it starts out with the side screen glows to help but then that goes away after the first few and you're just fucked if your hearing isn't great. Already fucked how much black screen this chapter was to be "dark", but now you gotta fuck over ppl who can't hear well?!

Legit had to leave a negative review because of it. It's unbeatable if you can't hear and that's not right.

The sound bullshit made me quit and negative review the game.

How does that make it past play testing? Not everyone can hear or hear well to tell where a sound is coming from. Let alone multiple in quick secsesion

We need more female loveable rogue characters.

I don't mean girlboss queens of criminal empires, or 'damaged' girls who are only putting up a tough criminal facade to hide their tragic past, or even terrifying but also sexualised murderers who can kill a man without blinking and look good while doing it.

I mean like… female characters whose primary roles in the main cast are to show up as needed with whatever whacky combination of items the heroes need and some vague excuse about them having "fallen off the back of a lorry".

Female characters who will shadily say "I know a guy" (in the gender neutral sense) when the protags need someone for a specific task, and then when they meet that guy she immediately almost gets murdered because of some ludicrous crime she committed years ago that she assumed they'd be over now.

Female characters who can't fight for shit and have no ability to act as a femme fatale, but do have the charisma/persuasion skills to talk their way out of dangerous situations when needed.

Female characters who have never murdered anyone, and would never consider murdering anyone, but still try to present themselves as some kind of master criminal despite having approximately none of the skills to back that up. And where this is played for laughs rather than as some sort of dramatic reveal.

Just… weasels. Urchins. Conwomen. Tricksters.

All those types of character that get to be comedic and loveable but kinda pathetic when played by a man, but suddenly have to be deadly, sexy, tragic and/or girlboss when played by a woman, because female characters always have to have that extra edge of seriousness to make up for the fatal flaw of being female.

Just let girl characters be fun, for godssake.

So I haven't seen anyone online talk about probably not only the best casting but best burn of a joke for Trolls 3.

They made Amy Schumer into the villain with no talent who just steals it smaller talent and doesn't care who gets hurt, and with no redeeming qualities.

So she basically played herself, and I find that to be the funniest joke in the movie that she probably doesn't realize can be seen as a dig at her stealing jokes from lesser known smaller comics.

I will say I think she did well because I didn't even realize it was her playing Velvet. Glad they got someone else for her singing voice too, cause it helps stress the lack of talent more (as in her singing voice is amazing)

Then we have Veener

My god do I love Andrew Rannells. Like he has too much talent and I always love his voice as Mattew on Big Mouth too, which also makes me crack up extra hard when Veneer is like "ask us anything we're GAPING novels" like damn your other voice work is showing on that.

Like O Town and LFO I can get being hard to work in wording wise, but dream st could of worked.

I’m sorry but it’s absolutely hilarious and yet adorable how the series handles Broppy’s relationship. First we get them traveling together as rivals (which was a bit more one- sided on Branch’s part) before slowing learning how to work together and to change for the other. Also it’s heavily implied Branch has an underline crush on Poppy. Then we get True Colors, and everyone thinks “okay they’re in love now”.

Some people/audience members are on board, others not so much. BUT THEN it turns out that the “I love you” they say to each other was a PLATONIC love confession. Like “you’re my friend, and I value you.” Which is still sweet, but was unexpected. (Though it does explain why the writers decided to put another platonic love confession scene between Bridget and Poppy. Yeah, I get it now)

So they just go through the journey as bffs who have feelings for each other but won’t say anything. And again, they learn how to work and grow together as a team and make the necessary changes to benefit the other. And then FINALLY we get the romantic love confession.

But it doesn’t stop there, oh no. Now we get adventure #3, this time with them as a full on couple. And they are actually really cute. Actually the film doesn’t focus that much on their relationship but we see hints of how they are as a couple.

Poppy is still all over the place but she’s much less in her own head and far more open to listening and being a good girlfriend.

Branch on the other hand is still occasionally getting exasperated by her energy but this time also has an appreciation for it. Also he learns to open up to her a little more and she’s there to listen and accept him with open arms. (Bonus points to their flirty dynamic because wow. They were adorable here.)

And it’s ONLY THEN (7 years after the first film) when they get their first on screen kiss.

Anyway. In conclusion: Trolls is the slowest slow burn I have ever seen in a Dreamworks trilogy.

We aren't about to leave out holiday specials here (the 2 cartoon series are decent but I'm not holding them to lore)

Trolls holiday Branch is the one who shows Poppy how she wasn't listening to Bridget and more cute friendship.

Then the legit good one Trolls Holiday in Harmony, with secret santa as a couple. Branch and Poppy both trying to go over the top for each other was already cute, but when they actually exchange the gifts and Branch frickin scapbooked for her. Like oh my heart, he did something he doesn't like for her who loves to scrap book-its too cute, and it's of their adventures together just fuckin aw (also get to see world tour and trollstopia trolls together and more rock trolls is always welcome) We also get Poppy giving Branch a kiss on the cheek and him being embarrassed, so 3rd movie kiss was def not their first on lips since Branch handled it so well.

This movie has so many little things like that, during Poppy convincing Branch to go on the trip, Grissy is in the back scratching his face (super blurry so they didn't need to include it, but did for detail sake)

Then at Bruce's restaurant when they're singing the pink eye kid is rubbing their eye, right next to the mom who has it in the next scene.

And just about every Mount Rageous citizen has a different look, with elaborate clothing.

And as a crafter I love the details on all the clothes, plants and even the orbees for water (though as a mom I legit hate them showing poppy spitting them out, just because they are such a life hazard when swallowed)

Like they came for Disney's throats with this one in terms of detail, music and even story compared to Wish, hell Velvet is a better villain than wish dude too.
