** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HEREāS SOME CHRISTIAN TRUTHS **
A lot of us struggle with patience. Look at the way our world is set up everything is fast. You can get overnight shipping from Amazon. I remember when I was buying my new Nintendo Switch 2. I wanted it immediately. I first tried ordering through Best Buy, but something was wrong with their system. So I went to Walmart instead, and they offered same-day delivery. I ordered it right away and got it that same day with no waiting at all, simply because I was impatient.
Many of us donāt realize that impatience can actually be a weakness. We may not see it that way, but it is. Think about how easy life has become now. You can have groceries delivered within an hour if you pay a little extra. Even places like Sonic now offer delivery through their app. People are willing to pay extra just to get things immediately because we donāt want to wait anymore.
The more we get used to instant results, the more impatient we become. But God calls us to wait patiently on Him on His timing, His will, and His voice. Sometimes we become impatient with God because He is not like Walmart, Amazon, or any other business. He is completely different. He is God.
God allows us to wait. Sometimes He takes us through trials, ups and downs, and situations we donāt understand. But He understands them fully. Often, understanding comes when we spend time talking with Him. Sometimes we ask, God, do I have to wait? or āHow long do I have to wait? Through prayer, He may give us peace, guidance, or even a sense of direction. But even then, we still have to wait patiently.
Sometimes we even have to wait in prayer just to hear His voice. He may not answer immediately or give us exact timing, but if we remain patient, we will hear from Him. Patience is something many people lack today because this world has trained us to expect everything instantly.
Psalm 27:14 Wait patiently for theĀ Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for theĀ Lord.
We must learn to wait patiently for the Lord. Many of us struggle with this because we have become used to everything happening quickly and instantly. We feel like things should always be fast and ready right away. But God is patient, loving, and kind, and He calls us to reflect those same qualities in our own lives.
Sometimes life becomes so fast-paced that we begin to think everything should happen immediately. But we were not meant to live with constant impatience. Some things are worth waiting for, especially the things that come from the Lord. God wants us to wait on Him and trust His timing.
There are moments when we pray and do not hear His voice right away. That does not mean He is absent. Sometimes God is teaching us patience, faith, and endurance. He may want to see how long we are willing to stay in prayer and seek Him. Many people leave too quickly when they do not hear an immediate answer, but sometimes what we truly need to do is sit patiently in His presence and wait.
Wait for Him to speak. Wait for Him to move. Wait for Him to bring peace, direction, and understanding. God knows when we have time for Him, and He also knows when we rush through our time with Him. He desires for us to wait on Him faithfully and consistently, trusting that His timing is always greater than our own.
Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Many times people become tired, discouraged, and overwhelmed because they try to carry every burden on their own. God never intended for us to depend only on our own power. When we trust Him and patiently seek Him, He renews our strength in ways we could never renew ourselves. Even during difficult seasons, God is able to give peace, endurance, and hope to those who continue to rely on Him.
The image of soaring like eagles shows the kind of strength God gives His people. Eagles rise above storms instead of being overcome by them, and in the same way, God helps His children rise above fear, worry, and hardship. Life can feel exhausting at times, and there are moments when people feel like giving up. Yet the Lord promises that those who remain faithful to Him will not be left powerless. He provides the spiritual strength needed to continue moving forward even when the journey feels long.
Patience is an important part of walking with God. Waiting does not always mean doing nothing; sometimes it means trusting God even when answers do not come immediately. The world teaches people to expect everything instantly, but God often works through seasons of waiting to build faith and character. When believers continue praying, trusting, and seeking Him, they learn that His timing is always perfect. The Lord sees every struggle, hears every prayer, and gives renewed strength at the right time.
Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
The passage tells us twice to wait for the Lord, and it also tells us to be strong and take courage. Many people are weak in their spirit because they do not feed their spirit enough. We strengthen our spirit by reading Godās Word, praying, meditating on Him, and spending time in His presence. But many times we fall short because we become too busy with other things, and one of the things we neglect is waiting on God. God wants us to wait on Him daily so we can hear His voice clearly and understand His direction for our lives.
It is difficult to hear God clearly when we are constantly distracted or rushing from one thing to another. We cannot expect to hear His voice while always getting up, moving around, or filling every moment with noise and conversation. There are times God may speak while we are around others, but truly waiting on Him means being still before Him. It means taking time to pray, sit quietly, and focus fully on His presence instead of quickly moving on to the next task or situation. Waiting on God requires patience, attention, and a heart that is willing to listen.
Every situation in life needs Godās guidance. Without His voice leading us, we can easily lose direction and make decisions based only on our emotions or understanding. God never intended for us to walk through life without Him. He wants us to seek Him in every circumstance so He can guide our steps and keep us on the right path. When we wait on the Lord, trust Him, and follow His direction, we grow stronger spiritually and become more sensitive to His voice. We must continue to follow God faithfully and allow Him to lead every area of our lives.
*** Today we talked about waiting on God and how simple it truly is. At first, it may seem difficult to wait on Him while praying, but waiting on God is not complicated. After you finish praying, instead of immediately getting up and moving on to other things, sit quietly and wait on Him. God wants us to wait after prayer so He can speak to us and guide us in what we need to do.
Sometimes people say, I donāt hear Godās voice, but have they truly waited after praying? Have they taken time to sit in His presence, meditate on His Word, and patiently listen for Him to speak? Many people do not try different ways to seek His voice. Instead, they quickly say they cannot hear Him and move on, but that is not always the right response. God often speaks when we slow down, become still, and give Him our full attention.
The best thing we can do is wait on God. After you finish praying and saying everything on your heart, take time to remain still before Him. Sit quietly, meditate on Scripture, and wait patiently for His presence and His voice. The more time we spend waiting on Him, the more clearly we will begin to recognize when He is speaking to us. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee
