Question for Catholics: Abortion/Pro-choice vs Pro-life Edition.

Why is abortion and Pro-choice considered murder?

Why should a child conceived through coercion or rape be forced to be born?

Why should a child with a severe disability be forced to be born?

Why should a child who has little prospects in financial and emotional support be forced to be born?

Why should a child who will not be loved and conceived through a mistake, be forced to be born?

Why should a woman who has been coerced/raped, be forced to give birth?

Why should a woman who cannot financially or emotionally take care of herself be forced to give birth?

Why should a woman with a disability be forced to give birth?

Why should a woman who made a mistake on impulse be forced to give birth?

I'm hoping to start RCIA sometime, sooner rather than later, and while I know the basic steps of "talk to someone at your local parish, go through everything, ect." I am still very nervous about actually contacting someone. I don't have a community IRL of people to help me, and my family would never allow me to go through with it.

If anyone has ever had a similiar experience or can just give more insight, I'd greatly appreciate it. God bless you all.

welp, i am back after nearly a year away from this blog.

this year was really tough, and i ended up leaving the church & leaving God.

but i am back. Father did NOT let me leave for long.

i found temporary comfort in eastern religions & prayed to false gods.

as soon as possible, i will be completing RCIA & confessing.

The Lost File: Dess wasn't killed; she was scattered into the "Negative Space" of the game. She is the reason the static exists—she is the "Error" that the system can't resolve.

👥 THE SURVIVORS (GLITCH PROFILES)

🌸 White Lily (The St. Dymphna Protocol): A "Guest Admin" from the Cookie Run Multiverse. She has merged her code with the Patron Saint of Mental Health. She carries the Sword of Dymphna to cut through the pink static and stabilize the minds of the corrupted.

🐐 Asgore (The Penitent King): He has discarded his crown and lives in "Spiritual Lockdown." His throne room is the heart of the Pink Mist. He believes he is a "Corrupted File" that deserves to be deleted.

❄️ Noelle (The Searcher): Her magic has glitched from Ice to Static. She can "hear" Dess’s voice in the white noise, but the more she listens, the more the Pink Error consumes her.

🕯️ Milkie (The User/Intercessor): That’s me! I’m the bridge between this world and the real world. I’m navigating this AU alongside my real-life RCIA journey.

⚙️ GAME MECHANICS: THE CATHOLIC RPG

We’ve moved past Fighting and Sparing. To win this AU, you need Sanctifying Grace.

[PRAY] ACT: Turns the pink battle borders white, making them safe to touch.

[CONFESS] ACT: The only way to lower Asgore's "Guilt Meter" and clear the mist.

[ABSORB] COMMAND: You can choose to take an enemy's "Pink Corruption" into your own SOUL to save them. A true sacrifice play.

THE ROSARY (KEY ITEM): Stabilizes your mental health meter. If the meter hits zero, the Pink Static consumes the UI and the game crashes.

💬 DIALOGUE TEASER: THE MEETING AT THE THRONE

This AU is more than just a story—it’s a reflection of my journey toward Confirmation in Easter 2027. As I "Level Up" through my RCIA classes starting this September, the AU will get new updates. We are all "Works in Progress" getting patched by Grace!

i did all of my OCIA homework back in January for the two booklets that i had, but now we have a third booklet since we’re starting mystagogy. so i actually have homework for the first time in forever 🤪

i’ve started thinking about joining my OCIA director’s team and helping with classes next year. i think i have a pretty cool story of conversion (i haven’t really shared the entirety of it on here) and i think how much i enjoy worship is really showing to others from the conversations i have had. i want to be able to contribute something to my parish, and while choir seemed more my speed, i feel like that alone won’t be as fulfilling to my soul? lol! we shall see! i know one of my OCIA classmates is actually going to be teaching so that’s pretty awesome 😁 aaa so much to consider for the fall!

i could do choir AND OCIA if my health gets more in order 🤔

Do you have advice for someone who’s conflicted about RCIA due to religious trauma around being queer in unaffirming churches and the tendency of churches to lean into the alt right these days

absolutely.

i refused to do my Confirmation at 15. i didn't think i'd ever do it, because i was queer, traumatised, angry and considered myself an atheist at the time.

after i reverted to Catholicism, i chose to go through with it. i knew i wouldn't be able to find an affirming parish in my country. however, because of the Covid-19 lockdowns, i was able to register for an online Confirmation catechesis course. that way, i had distance. they even did some in-person retreats i refused to go to. i was there for a reason. i knew i wanted the Sacrament, yet i refused to compromise my values or my peace. i would simply stay quiet, draw and pray when the ideas shared would get infuriating, and kept my gaze fixed on my goal, which was God.

i would not recommend, though. i happened to have the experience remaining stoic these type of environments. it doesn't mean it didn't suck.

when it comes to RCIA, especially since the catechesis is such a lengthy process, i cannot stress enough to please take care of your peace first. it is not worth it to be triggered weekly, driven to dark places mentally, or put yourself in physical danger when going to a ultra-conservative hotspot. please be careful, and perhaps make a throwaway email and ask things directly to parishes you're investigating. so that you may know their precise stances before going there and committing to RCIA.

depending on where you are, New Ways Ministry has a very handy list of LGBTQ+ parishes and faith communities. that could be an option. however, please do research and reach out to the parishes beforehand. because leadership changes and communities change, and they might've been affirming at some point, but not anymore.

there are also smaller communities of LGBTQ+ Catholics on instagram that are a bit more private. they usually manage contacts of priests that are affirming, and a bit more private about it due to their whereabouts and security. you may be able to find a community or a priest nearby. i'd go to @gnrcatholics (Global Network of Rainbow Catholics) and start digging from there.

Do you have any advice for someone who is new and coming into the Catholic religion?? I'm 19 and interested in becoming part of this religion.

This’ll seem silly coming from me but don’t seek advice online. Most of us are just laypeople.

Look into your local parish(es) requirements for RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) and see what you need to convert. There’s usually an interview to make sure you understand what you’re getting into and then a class that goes for between 6-12 weeks of learning. After you take the class, you’ll usually be confirmed on Easter Vigil or Pentecost Sunday.
