'It's nothing — a stupid interaction that is less than a momentary deviation in her daily life in the city, but the power of it in interrupting the daze Shikamaru's hand on her shirt had put her in is unparalleled.
And when she turns back, meeting eyes with Shikamaru, they both burst out laughing, shoulders curling into the empty space between them, heads close, laughing together as though they're the only two to understand such hilarities; the only two in-on the joke.'

This episode of game changer felt like if severance was a comedy
I think about this like once a day
I have heard a variant on it that I really like: "You cannot hate yourself into someone you can love."
To my 25 - 35 year olds, you've reached the age where people around you are starting to give up on themselves because they think it's too late. Don't let that energy rub off on you. It's not too late.
I became a tattoo artist at 49.
Married the love of my life at 50.
Got my Class A CDL at 59.
You've got time.
As long as you're breathing, you've got time.
sorry, baby (2025) strikes such an incredible balance to me. first of all it’s funny. it’s directed beautifully, you can feel the winter air as you watch it. it’s meandering and expansive. it’s honest. something I found remarkable was the way it intentionally restrained from extracting maximum amounts of anger or shock or bitterness or even sadness out of its audience- something so many films around trauma often aim to do. add salt to wound. instead it gently validates those exact feelings and says- it’s ok if you feel them. it’s ok if you feel crushingly lost or lonely with them in your head. love yourself and love your best friend and keep going
a little bit of time is all i need // for Eluriel on AO3; my gift for sunaosa autumn exchange!
Every time you go in a public place and something ISN’T disgusting it’s because somebody cleaned it. Every time you feel comfortable using a public bathroom or sitting at a restaurant table or setting something on a gas station counter or playing on a playground it’s because somebody cleaned it.
Thank you to everyone who cleans the world, especially those who are underpaid and under appreciated.
I worked in a supermarket for 7 years and I don't think I can understate just how much cleaning you had to do for it to look clean (it very often where not in the places you aren't supposed to see)
True for food service, retail establishments, gyms, outdoor areas, schools, religious buildings, office buildings, etc. People usually only notice when a space is NOT clean, meanwhile every time a space is clean it’s only because of the diligent work of janitors, maintenance staff, custodians, parks workers, or volunteers.
One thing about Obsession (2026) that I enjoyed was that it almost asks you to feel empathy for the entity possessing Nikki as well as the real one. Like, obviously the things she's doing are horrific and fucked up, but I think the scene where Bear is asking her to "just be Nikki!" and she eventually just desperatly screams "I can't be Nikki!" does a really good job of showcasing the entity's inner feelings. She's been created with the sole purpose of loving this guy more than anyone else but no matter how perfect it is or how much he claims to love her, its not her that he loves, its Nikki. And any time she stops pretending to be Nikki, he reacts (albeit rightfully) with disgust and horror. She can't be Nikki because Nikki would never love Bear, and so Bear will never love her.
Just saw the interview where Curry Barker explained that it's totally possible to get a normal wish from the One Wish Willow, and I love the way they did that so much. The reason Obsession happened isn't because it's trying to twist Bear's desires into something evil. It's not even because he phrased his want wrong. Obsession happened because Bear got his hands on a magic item that could do anything in existence, and chose to force someone to fall in love with him, which is an inherently evil thing to do.
Im sliding back into the netflix defenders shows and i am DEVASTATED that there arent any good video essays about jessica jones season 1. That season is my FAVORITE marvel season and it dives so much into consent and control, trauma, etc with such a TERRIFYING VILLIAN. I just wanted to see someone else recognize the importance of jessica having literal super strength and still being victimized, the fact that even when he couldnt hurt her directly, he could hurt people she cares about. The purple mans weapon is words and connection to others that will defend him. Delving into the villian asking "can you blame him if no one ever told him it was wrong" (yes). Jessica having to deal with a guy who while initially wanting to help, spiralled into taking matters into his own hands rather than dealing with his own trauma. Jessica is self destructive, rude, and at times suicidal. Shes an alcoholic who can't bring herself to trust others because of all that happened but she cares SO MUCH. Shes super strong. Shes terrified. Shes smart. Shes doesnt blame anyone who was conteolled except herself.
And with jessica is her (sometimes annoying) sister who is dealing with her own trauma after growing up a child star who her mother pawned off to people and then got her hooked on drugs. And theres also the lesbian lawyer jessica works with that is so driven by her own greed and selfishness that it got her where she is at the beginning but almost consumes her at the end. And Hope, (aptly named) the catalyst starting off jessicas path to move forward and address her trauma by being an innocent pawn, bc if shes innocent and forgivable in jessicas eyes, the jessica deserves to forgive herself too.
This show and specifically s1 is so flushed with imperfect, fully realized female characters alongside male characters also grieving and traumatized in their own way and a villian that is truly so horrifying that i cant BELIEVE more people dont talk about it.
Its got a fun noir aesthetic, a snarky main character, and a Story to Tell.
Side note: theres only 4 gifs of jessica jones on tumblr and HALF of them are the villian??????? Im gonna riot
the concept of now SNL's Jeremy Culhane improving a porn opening scene with an actual pornstar was not something I could have ever predicted
"Brennan is the best game changer contestant" this "Brennan is so competitive" that
Okay well I've never watched in fear as Brennan hit a bong full of whisky for a game changer now have I
ally laughing so hard they have to use big mommy's hand to physically support them
Lowkey Ally is due for an episode that truly highlights their impish intelligence. I need them to outfox their way thru an episode the way they answered the first prompt in ‘Second Place’. Or even when they convinced Adam to add himself to his own random elimination generator in the second survivor series. Plus Allys gotta win like at least 1 episode
I have many a qualm about Young Sherlock but I have to admit, Moriarty shamelessly flirting with Sherlock’s mother and sleeping with his sister is excellent stuff, wonderful entertainment, no notes.
