Visual Novel Recommendations: Head AS Code and Birth ME Code

Hi! I played this series recently and absolutely loved it, and I'd love to see it have a bigger fanbase, so here's some non-spoilery information about it if you're thinking about playing it! (im not affiliated w the game dev at all, i just really enjoyed the games lol)

The first game is Head AS Code (HASC), the second one is Birth ME Code (BMEC). Even the dev has said though that you can play them out of order (like i did) and they're made so they don't really spoil one another. Both games are available on Steam. The game dev, Miracle Moon, recently revamped the first game with all new graphics and stuff, which is why it says it was released later than the second game.

They are visual novel "group of characters gets trapped/killing game" games, similar to Zero Escape and Danganronpa. In my opinion, if you liked Zero Escape, you'll probably like these games. As with any of these kind of games, I highly recommend jumping in with as little information and spoilers as possible. HASC is more like a normal visual novel, BMEC has more puzzles.

There are some trigger warnings to be aware of. I'm not really good at describing trigger warnings, but the dev listed them under the "Mature Content Warning" on steam. If you want a more in-depth description, some of the steam reviews talk about the triggering stuff.

If you need a walkthrough for BMEC, this is a good one, there are a couple other good ones on steam as well. The official discord is also a good place to go for help, and it's pretty active with theories and stuff too!

The game dev is currently working on a third and final game in the series, and they're also currently working on overhauling the save game mechanics, flow chart, and some visual tweaks for BMEC. You can check the steam page and the dev's twitter for more info about updates.
