Aroace culture is noticing how it’s the one orientation shipper culture doesn’t respect. You wouldn’t ship a lesbian character with a man, but you take an aroace character that’s clearly romance/sex repulsed or averse and shove them into your horny ships with the excuse of “but aroace people can still date!” But then don’t acknowledge the complexities that come with it being a spectrum and just have the mentioned aroace character act like an allo. I have this feeling a lot of shippers don’t actually care about aroace spectrum rep, they just want an excuse to ship aroace characters because their sexuality might otherwise get in the way 😐
