Maybe you are wondering why I'm doing this? Or what the end goal of this is? Or you're just thinking TVC admin why are you asking these? we just want funny things to laugh at.

Well I'll tell you the answers imaginary interlocutor.

I'm doing this so I can elevate trans voices in my industry. A pretty "well duh" answer but the truth.

The end goal is that this is successful enough for us to run a week long event with different trans performers doing 1 night wip of shows and q+a after to help them develop their work and build a community together. If this goes well that that could happen next year, this could become a annual event, maybe eventually other venues get involved, imagine the TransVision Fringe.

Only trans performers, (maybe some cis MCs), all trans written stories, building a community and promoting an understanding of ourselves.

Sometimes I see girls translate 'I am no man' into elvish for tattoos

Which is great but...

I have two points of advice

1. The original quote in the text is

"no living man am I! You look upon a woman."

Which is just more badass imo

2. She wasn't an elf, she was a woman of the riddermark. So elvish is a bit clunky and inaccurate of a translation. Why not try Anglo-Saxon instead, which is what Tolkien "translated" Rohirric into

"No livende mann eom Iċ! Þū lōk upon a wīf."

Side note þéoden king (king theoden) in old english means ruler or lord, so his name as spoken in the films literally means lord king or king lord with modern sentence structure (can't remember if they say theoden king in the book it's been a while)
