I may have been late to this fandom, I wasn't here when the band were together. But I remember watching Liam audition for TXF the first time around, I remember watching 1D get put into a band, I remember my sister's unbearable love for (what I thought at the time were) a stupid boyband. I remember her spotting Liam at our local shopping centre and her and her friends following him around, too scared to actually say hello. And then I got into this fandom, and I loved those boys so wholeheartedly. I was so proud of their accomplishments, I was so happy when Liam was telling us of his struggle and that he was sober. And I was so worried for him when he clearly wasn't doing so well. He wasn't a perfect person, and he had done things wrong. He was a victim too, a victim of the industry since he was 14 years old. He deserved a chance to be better.

I hope that he can finally be at peace.

My thoughts are with the Payne family, his son, and the boys tonight ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

The fact that a news outlet (TMZ) decided that their need to get a scoop justified posting partial pictures of a young man's body just to demonstrate that it was his tattoos is the grossest fucking thing and I hope every single person who signed off on it regrets it every day for the rest of their lives.

Liam was dehumanised to a commodity from the age of 16 and the fact that even in death he's being treated like this is disgusting. I'm so sad and I'm so mad and I hope his family sues (if that's what they want to do).

There is no reason to share 'news' like this. It isn't journalism, it isn't in the public's interest. It's grubby and foul and to not even put a warning of the article's contents in the headline is fucking cruel.

Fuck TMZ.

liam. oh liam. god. he was the one i worried so much about ever since the band. like, it used to be zayn but when zayn left and grew i thought "ok, he's going to be ok" because you could see after a while that the band was not good for zayn. you could see it. but liam, god. he carried so much weight, all the time. from the band all the way to the present, he was the guy who was supposed to be put together. he was "daddy direction" he was. yeah. he was that guy. and i know it weighed on him. i KNOW it did. the drinking and the fucking spiraling he went through after the band, it was all connected. and i'm not. defending his choices, i'm not. but i'm grieving him and i'm aching for him, and. i just wanted him to be okay. i really really thought that he would be okay. and he's not. and i'm. fucking heartbroken about it.

my favorite scene in LotR as a kid was when Sam started miserably freestyling in the tower of Cirith Ungol and the only reason he ever found Frodo was because he deliriously tried to join in

…i did read some of the novels, but i couldn’t get through them entirely…

…and so i genuinely have no idea whether or not this is serious. coz i mean, obviously, it could be a joke. but it could also have legitimately happened. people who have only seen the films underestimate the amount of random things that happen in the books that could come off as utterly silly and ridiculous if removed from their context.

Haha, well, it is pretty much what happens. Sam is looking for Frodo in the tower of Cirith Ungol and is despairing that he will ever find him. He sits down and does what any self-respecting Tolkien character does during their moments of hopelessness and bursts into song.

It’s a really good song (ten year old Ship had it memorized) and as he begins the refrain a second time, he hears Frodo’s voice answering weakly from above. Frodo is poisoned and despairing and beaten but he is still a Hobbit and cannot resist a singalong even while on the brink of death.
