I am at an emergency vet 45 min from my house at 1 in the morning because I think my cat might have a urinary blockage and I am listening to the receptionist explaining to someone on the phone that they don't need to take their dog into an emergency vet, at 1 in the morning, for fleas.

I was only 4 years old when I saw my mother load a washing machine for the very first time in her life. That was a great day for my mother.

Also these machines are genuine accessability tools. I can't take the trash out as often as I'd like because of my disabilities so a garbage disposal would keep me from having to put old food in the trash and keep it from smelling bad for longer. I can't stand long enough to do the dishes and cook so the dishwasher makes it possible for me to feed myself. I absolutely could not handwash my laundry even if my life depended on it, I need a washer and dryer. AC is as necessary as a heater here because 1) it's hotter here than it is in Europe, and 2) plenty of chronic illnesses are made much worse by the heat—for me, being too hot means I throw up and potentially faint, I need an air conditioner.

The amount of times actual things that make disabled lives easier are called "lazy american nonsense" really is starting to grate on me. It's important for women's liberation and thus also queer liberation, as well as disabled liberation and just making life easier for everyone, including people who just don't have the time to do all their chores by hand.

Also the dishwasher uses less water than washing by hand overall so like?? God isn't gonna high five you when you get to heaven over all the manual labor you did.

I remember this reddit thread that was, like, "what jobs wouldn't exist if people weren't stupid" and the ableism was buck fuckin wild. One guy said "replacing water heaters". Like, bruh. You think the reason people don't do that for themselves is that they're too stupid?

Incidentally, you know what's great (not sarcastic)? Tumblr let's me crop my pics in that app instead of a dumb ai popping up to ask me if I want to make it, like, yarn or something. Unlike my messenger app. Which will not let me crop in app. But still asks me if I want to use ai on it. An ai that also will not let me crop.

I suspect Tumblr will never incorporate ai because it is simply too poor but I will banish myself to this desert island populated by sewer freaks and beg to be accepted as a refugee without a second thought.

I don't really expect people to believe this but John Brown is a pretty close relative of mine (I think his sister is my great great great Gramma or something but I admit I don't really remember).

I'm only bringing this up because you mentioned his family and I wanted to say my great grandpa was, like, radicalized after being a cop in Detroit during the race riots and moved away and ran for mayor on an anti-KKK platform. Grandpa described him as a mean, stubborn man and he fuckin HATED the KKK. He would just stand outside one of their buildings and yell at them for hours. He would haul Grandpa's ass and his brother's out of bed at like 0300 in the morning and bring them over to put sugar in the KKK menbers' gas tanks hahaha

My dad is also deep in it so the legacy goes on I guess hahaha
