Hi!! My deepest apologies for being the absolute worst zine host on this good planet earth… I literally spent a month recovering from the finale and being too busy.

Hopefully y'all have been thinking about your entries, or even doing your entries, amidst my incompetence. Some of you have shown me your ideas and sketches already!! Thank you!!!

Our deadline is now officially placed at 3 months from today, May 11th.

The Regular Show Zine's due date is officially extended

The date is to be determined, but it will likely be 2-4 months after the series finale. This is so: -We can use this final season as inspiration for our entries -We can use our holiday breaks to work on our entries -More new participants can find out about this project and join in -The pieces will be even more a tribute to the show Thank you! -Gumballboyfriend

I wish I were a better zine host tbh... I'll try to post some promo art and preliminary sketches of my own soon, maybe this weekend??? Project Shift??? 9-13-16

Now we know for almost absolute certain that this show is ending. I really wanted this zine to be as much as a tribute as possible, so I feel I want to open the floor for as many ideas/characters as people want and as suits the show. I'm also thinking of pushing the deadline to some time after the show actually ends, so we all have more ideas to work from. What do y'all think? -gumballboyfriend

Regular Show Zine Instructions!!!

The zine is on friends!! My last post didn’t get much internet traction, so I’m simplifying that post and the instructions for you right here! Theme: Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson Instructions: Draw 2 or all 3 of them interacting in some way! Acceptable entries: -Finished drawing -A comic (finished or colored sketches) -A page of colored sketches -A fan-made title card (the episode must center on 2 or all 3 of them, like Blind Trust, Busted Cart, and Lunch Club) Rules: -No nsfw -Platonic portrayals only -Keep it relatively in character (just don’t have any of them doing something extremely abnormal from what they’d do on the show) Note: The zine might be printed but not for profit Posting previews, streaming your progress, and talking about the zine anywhere is welcome! Please tag it with #regularshowzine I’m also gonna push the due date forward to November 25th, a month really isn’t enough time for everyone and we could always get more people! Regular Show Zine Update Post 1: 7-25

Hi! gumballboyfriend.tumblr.com here! I'm thinking about changing up the official zine instruction post to make it a lot more simple and break everything down better, and to add some more information. And I still need to figure out the dimensions of the zine. All I know so far is that everyone's files must be at least 300dpi. Stay tuned! Regular Show Zine Project!!!

The project is on!!! So far we have about 25 artists willing to participate!!

This is not an exclusive project!! Any Regular Show fan is welcome to contribute! Just please message me letting me know that you want to join in so you’ll be put on the list!!!

The theme is: The Main 3 (Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson)

Description: This zine will explore and celebrate the fascinating platonic relational dynamics between Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson. Your challenge is to create one or two pieces of art that focus on two or all three of the characters interacting in some way.

Acceptable entries (digital art is preferred): -A fully finished illustration or painting -A page of cleaned up sketches, colored (must be several sketches) -A comic (finished illustration or colored sketches) -Fan made title cards (for any episode with a main focus on two or all three of these characters eg: Blind Trust, Wall Buddy, Lunch Club, Weekend at Benson’s)

Relationship Dynamics (my interpretation): -Mordecai + Rigby = brotherly best friends -Mordecai + Benson = coach and trainee, brotherly friends, have each other’s backs, a little more open with each other, a little more on the mature side, willing to admit their own faults -Rigby + Benson = coach and difficult trainee, warming up to and learning to trust one another, goof off together like college/high school kids -Mordecai and Rigby and Benson = brothers/good hearted “tough love” employer and his employees/fatherly figure and his adoptive sons, hoping they become more wise and hard working than he was when he was younger, and pushing them to do better

Note: These are only some of my ideas about their relationships. Their canonical relationships are open to your own interpretation, but I thought I’d write out my ideas as a very rough guide to help you out!

Rules: -No NSFW please! Keep it PG so everyone can enjoy! If it wouldn’t happen on the air, please don’t put it in the zine!
 -No shipping/subtle shipping hinting please! Platonic pairings/portrayals only!! Shipping creates division between fans and I want this zine to encompass how wonderful the friendships in the show are!! 
 -Canon characterizations only please! If it’s too out of character from what they’d do in the show, don’t put it in the zine!! I want this zine to fully appreciate the show, so I want it to be authentically real! (Take this rule with a grain of salt. It’s totally ok to exaggerate the characters’ actions! Just don’t draw them doing anything extremely abnormal from what they would do on the show).

Open conversations on tumblr (and on any other website), streaming/video recording your entry drawing process, and posting previews are more than welcome!! If you talk about the zine or post previews, please tag it as #regularshowzine so I and anyone else interested can see!! Just please don’t post your entry before the zine goes live.

Also please note, the zine MIGHT be printed, but not for profit. (I don’t want to get folks’ money involved if I can help it, I just want all of us to have fun! However, if I find a high quality, cheap way to get these printed, I may try to make it happen, and the zines would only cost the price of shipping and printing. I also might try fundraising on my own time to get them printed).

If you are creating an entry, please stay on top of communication and please follow the guidelines and due dates!!

Current due date: September 6th, Regular Show’s premiere date and the show’s 6th birthday!! Date of zine going live: To be determined (when everyone is allowed to post their work) If folks aren’t ready or if this isn’t enough time, I will push the final due date back further.
