I'm editing some transcripts right now, it's going to be much better when I'm done. For example, I'm working on a "Citadel assignments" file, so everything Citadel related (main quest + sidequests) is more readable. I'll also add more options that are missing in some transcripts.

I hope you can forgive me for all the imperfections or the work in progress. I'm heading to something here, I swear :) As always, if you see errors: tell me!

Note: if this is your first time reading my Mass Effect Lore transcripts, know that it's not really about telling you where to find crates or how many Paragon/Renegade points you'll get. I assume guides and wiki are there for that. The transcripts will just show actions, dialogues, options, etc.

completely personal preference obviously but i hate when there's a time travel fix-it and everything goes smoothly and the protagonist is just cool and confident with all their knowledge of the ruined future. nooo shut up. what is even the point if they're not an emotionally traumatized mess frantically trying to fix things and fucking up as they do so, keeping secrets and alienating their loved ones, causing new and interesting problems and barely scraping through to an eventual better ending

My preferred outcome is for them to avoid the problems in the original timeline only to face a whole host of new, unforeseen consequences because reality is fuckin complicated and you can't control all the factors in the world no matter how hard you try <3

there’s a thing I think about sometimes when I’m writing that I call ‘the rabies condition’

by which I mean: there are no contraindications to getting the rabies vaccine for post-exposure prophylaxis.

every other vaccine usually has a few contraindications like ‘don’t take this if you’re allergic to it’ or ‘if you’re pregnant discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor’ or ‘don’t give to children below age 6′ or something, but not the rabies vaccine. if you’ve been exposed to rabies, there is literally no medical reason that can justify not getting the rabies vaccine–you can be deadly allergic to literally every single ingredient and the correct decision is still to administer the vaccine, because if you don’t, you’re 100% guaranteed to die of rabies. even the life-threatening allergies are a step up in survival rate (especially since anaphylaxis is something that can be managed, even if there are risks associated with it)

which is to say, the rabies condition: if a character has been ‘exposed to rabies’, aka, in some impending absolute worst-case scenario, like the apocalypse or some death curse or the destruction of their entire city via demons or whatever, then that character has to take action and the consequences and risks no longer matter, because literally any other outcome would be better, and 1% chance of survival is still better than 0%. that doesn’t make those actions necessarily good, the same way that injecting yourself with something you know you’re deadly allergic not a good thing to do, but it’s still better than dying horrifically of rabies. desperate times and desperate measures etc

and then, after your character’s prevented some horrible thing by doing some almost equally bad thing, they should absolutely experience the consequences of those choices.

Shakarian au where instead of enlisting Shepard ends up drifting around before eventually ending up on Omega and becoming Aria T'Loak's No. 1 Attack Dog (and lowkey adoptive daughter though both of them would gag if anyone even attempted to point out their very weird found family vibe).

Whenever Aria has a problem, she just throws Shepard at it who deals with it with extreme prejudice. A renegade force of nature who has never failed to deliver on a job. Despite all the enemies Shepard has made as the most versatile ace up Aria's sleeve, no one's ever managed to one up her. At least until a certain Turian vigilante starts causing problems in Omega.

Archangel never directly attacks Aria's chief enforcer and Shepard has no reason to go after some upstart vigilante that's probably going to get a bullet to the back of the head before too long, but they keep running into each other doing their respective jobs. Sometimes they're working towards opposite aims, sometimes they're working towards the same goal. Either way they're constantly trying to outdo each other in semi friendly competition and being obnoxiously flirty about it.

Garrus' team won't stop teasing him about the flirting especially since half the time he doesn't even seem to realize just how flirtatious and outright seductive he gets when he's taunting Shepard and are placing bets on how long it will take the two of them to put everyone out of their misery and finally resolve all the unresolved sexual tension.

Aria on the other hand is going to fucking lose it if Shepard comes into the Afterlife one more time mooning over her stupid vigilante not-boyfriend. Aria almost wishes Shepard would go back to being the argumentative little shit she usually is than listen to her talk about just how impressive whatever trick shot Archangel did to take out some Eclipse Lieutenant. Aria's lived for over a thousand years but she does not think she's ever been as stressed as she has been in the last decade since she first met scrappy 19 year old Shepard, and now she has to deal with lovesick 30 year old Shepard who is somehow infinitely worse. Everyone knows Aria actually cares for Shepard though because anyone else would have met the wrong end of Aria's shotgun if they pulled even an eigth of the things Shepard gets away with on a daily basis.

However no one suffers more than the criminals of Omega as Shepard and Garrus compete to outdo each other in increasingly ridiculous stunts to impress each other, most of which culminate in some merc dying a truly humiliating death as little more than fodder for whatever battlefield banter Shepard and Garrus are exchanging.

The worst thing about the enforced loss on Thessia continues to be that I'm winning when it happens every time. Like, targeting the supports should have been written more as Kai Lang's desperate bid to avoid getting his ass kicked instead of his badass moment because I am literally kicking his ass when he does it every time and then get smacked by plot-enforced incompetence.
